Choosing wise is all it takes

Likes

The faculty is amazing and well experienced, They provide in-depth knowledge about the subject.
The girls to boys ratio is higher, there are only 5 - 10% pf boys in the students population.
There are great opportunities for learning through accessible library, hospital internships , dissertation projects.

Dislikes

There is mass admission of students into the course , where around 100- 120 students are pushed into the course.
There is poor infrastructure, the main campus is built beautifully but the campus holding nutrition and yoga departments are poorly supported in the infrastructure and maintenance.
There is poor accessibility to healthy foods in the department canteens. Poorly maintained washrooms and classrooms.

Students view on curriculum

The curriculum includes various aspects required for working as a dietician and a health care worker. The curriculum includes Diet therapy , public health nutrition , community nutrition , it also includes basics like human anatomy and physiology, Statistics and research. These subjects aid in future applications in respected designations. There is a great scope for understanding and learning research. This course encourages research in nutriton be it community nutrition , sports nutrition or any other. The exams pattern includes 2 internal exams which would aid in 40 marks for internals along with assignments, records.

Fees of the course per year and scholarship available in the college

The yearly structure usually varies in the first year the fee was around 96,000/- and the second year fee was 88,000/-The exam fee is for every semester and every paper costs around 800-1000. There would be application fee and marks sheet fee included in every semester exam fee. Scholarships are available for students below income categories and also SC and ST categories.

Students view on campus life

Well the campus is very small , it's basically a 3 story buidling with classrooms. The campus running department of nutriton is actually the old JSS hospital which was remodeled for usuage as college. The infrastructure of the college is pretty bad. Exposure to environment is absent. There are no social groups or clubs run by the students and there are not much extracurricular activities and sports held by the department. The facilities provided to the students and staff is poor either be it classrooms , washrooms , staff rooms, canteens, etc. Personally i haven't enjoyed the campus and it's jus a building with no garden space , no exposure to the environment.

Students view on faculties

The curriculum of the course is well-built. The course includes an exposure to human anatomy and physiology , diseases and their dietary changes , public health and nutrition etc. The faculty are skilled in teaching the subjects and they are open to questions. I personally love Navya ma'am and pooja ma'am who help the students in understanding the subject. There are many PhD scholars who are always helping the students understand few topics and are always open for questions.

Admission Process of the college

I applied for university of pondicherry and symbiosis College, Pune. I got confirmed seats in symbiosis and also in university of pondicherry. I choose JSS as I'm interested in research programs and i couldnt find Masters in nutrition and dietetics. I wanted a different curriculum and i found it in JSS. The admission process is pretty simple , you can check JSS website from their u can apply for any interested course either Bachelors or masters. Upload your documents and you would most likely get an email depending on your eligibity to the cohrse opted.

Night Life

There is nothing as night life at this college , the college closes by 5.30pm. All the students dismiss by then. Research oriented students under any projects can be working in the labs till late evenings. There is no Hostel provision for this campus. There are several spots to visit from the college, there is a mall nearby , its the closest to Mysore palace. As Mysuru is a pretty place a simple stroll outside the college is soul soothing.

Quality of infrastructure is very good, it has well equipped labs and furnitures.

Dislikes

There is no much communication between juniors ans seniors
There is no much preference for cultural programs or any other fests.
The i disliked is the timings of college.

I applied to this college based on my CET ranking. Also this college is very nice, having good environment and campus is also huge. I applied for RNSIT and other few college with this college. I got seat in this college.

Jss was near to my home and i had a direct bus root for the college and it has a big campus and a lot of good grades form the students to back it up I couldn't get into bms ,pes or rv because my grades weren't good enough. For a student to join jss they have 3 ways KCET,comedkand college feeand the most preferred is KCET as it offers the lowest cost Amogh the for me in 2024 the cut of of ec for my cast was 49000 in the KCET that to in the last round

Admission:

I chose this college because it's near to my house and I personally feel it's better than all the colleges in the vicinity, which includes RNSIT and SJBIT. The fees for management quota is also less for ECE course. JSS doesn't have any college entrance exam, they accept students through KCET and COMEDK and management quota

The campus is at pretty good location surrounded with greenre
Infrastructure is realy good, the teachers are very helpfull

Dislikes

Its a non autonomus college so it follows VTU instructions
The wifi speed is very slow that is a big problem because in campus area there are hardly any networks
The attendance policy need 85% to sit for exams

Admission:

I applied for Jee mains but i did'nt got good rank then i applied for COMEDK and i got cse in this college for 18k rank, I choose this college as compared to other private colleges here only limited number of students are there in cse so the competition is not very high Admission processes for our college is simple you have to go through COMEDK counselling there will be three rounds in every round you will have 4 options of freeze seat, accept and upgrade, reject and upgrade, reject. Except reject in all three option you have to pay the initial fee of 2.8 lakh.
