The coding culture in this college is very nice , in the first year only you will see people like you doing DSA, competitve programming , web dev..
The senior interaction is very good and useful in this college also there is zero ragging so it makes the campus safe for us.
There are multiple opportuinities for a student to participate in so the co-curricular part is excelent ,there are many clubs,workshops,events..

Dislikes

As there is no rerservation in this college so there is heavy competition among students .
The campus size is very small , yet well developed and maintained but it doesnt provide us very big sports arena and we miss out on some things due to it.
As mentioned the girls to boys ratio is less in this college increasing every year yet still it is about 1:10 .

Admission:

So I was getting IIT Mandi Mechanical , VIT-CSE ,IIIT-Allahabad- ECE(CSAB) but i chose this college because of the quality of education and the course curriculum along with the good placement every year and when i consulted and talked with many people who are working in industry they told that CSE is the future branch so yeah and also the city is banglore itself which impacts very much and also i thought that when i am getting CSE in a tier -1 institute it is best to take it over other options. IIIT-B provides UG admission on the basis of only JEE Mains CRL, there is no reservation policy here , the cutoff for BT-CSE was about CRL-8700 (99.4 percentile approx) the overall admission process is very smooth it mostly online and we also have one offline campus round in which we can sure shot confirm our seat .

Very small campus not a great place to roam in the college
Attendance policy is strict ans of 75 percent is must.
Some times faces wifi issues and some time food is not so good

I have applied to other colleges through josAA counseling I have got nit warangal ece. But I felt this is superior college to nit warangal ece because of placements and the bangalore city. We should apply seperately for the college counselling which is purely merit based and through jee main rank.

Professors are really talented and knowledgeble. They are very cooperative and helpful as well.
Peer group is very awesome, since everyone holds similar range of ranks.
Research facilities are very top notch, since the professors are mostly those who have completed their phds from very reputed institutes.

Dislikes

I think the campus size is little small, although it is very optimised so this could be a little disadadvantageous sometimes.
In the first and second year worrkload is high, although those works are very rewarding eventually.
Clubs and sports take a backseat with respect to academics.

Admission:

The main motivation of choosing this college was the location and the faculty profiles , I saw the coding culture of the other colleges and iiit banglore and I find it too good relative to other ones, people from the first year itself have started codeforces, codechef and other coding platoforms for problem solving, many of them have qualified gsoc as well in the 2nd and 3rd years .

no need to study irrelevant subjects in any year. only important subjects.

gender ratio is very bad, girls are very less in number as compared to boys
the size may seem small at first but over time it comes out to be better inly
academic pressure maybe high sometimes but that is the need of the hour as per industry standards

Admission:

1) I applied to NIT Rourkela via jossa cousneling and got addmisson there. i chose this college because of its placement data and review about fauclty that i got. 2) No i did not apply to many colleges as there was no need to because of my jee percentile. 3) Admision process is very simple. College prepares their internal rank list woth respect to students who have applied and their JEE crl rank. after that every student in line is given chance to choose their brach(respect to availabiltiy of branch). Once branch is chosen then we have to report to college and then further paperwork is done.

Very friendly professors who interact and are experienced in various fields, all of them are PHD's
Vibrant peer group and seniors(no ragging)
Coding culture and lot of intership opportunities

Dislikes

Smaller Campus : Only 9 acres so it is small compared to other colleges
Mess food: Although it is healthy one is bound to get bored after two months or so
Not many sports facilities are not present such as swimming pool or squash courts

Admission:

I had applied to many colleges such as NIT K, NIT Trichy etc. I had got accepted to all the other colleges but I chose this over this as the course curriculum is better. I am from Bangalore so making this decision was helpful. The admission process is fairly simple, the college only considers JEE Mains for enrollment. Cutoff in my year was around 14000.

What is the expected cutoff for BTech CSE 2024?

As per last year, you need to have an expected rank of around 6000 or less which is equivalent to 97.23%ile or more in JEE Mains to be eligible for admission to IIIT-B B.Tech CSE.
