The host facility is pretty good. It is very affordable. Not so strict and give us good liberty. The quality of food is rather mediocre, and vast room for improvement is there. Good speed Wifi facility is available throughout hostel. And 600mbps lan connection is provided to each room. Paid good quality laundry services available.
In 1st year you'll get here amber hostel which is fine or okay okay type with two people in each room. After that in 2nd and 3rd you'll be give aquamarine hostel which is kind of hotel room hostel very gorgeous and spacious rooms. In 4th year you'll be allotted Jasper hostel with single rooms. Food here in every hostel is very good and above average. Someday if u don't wanaa eat then every hostel have 2-3 canteen in the Hostel itself or either you can go to Barista and mezban there to eat in the campus.

Facilites provide : WIFI , Volleyball court, tennis court, lawn, green campus, nice gym, all sports and games, swimming pool and laundry services and barber shop within campus. Mess food menu can be changed by studnts choice. Food quality used is good but taste is not, one might wounder how that happens. No seperate mess for vegeterians. Veg and non veg is cooked in same kitchen and kitched in very diryt. Often you'll find insects and hair in you food served. You'll have to rely on RD Tea shop for samosas and chai, and for nescafe for maggi and coffee. Hostel and mess are affordable but don't expect it be very well furnised, you'll just get basic amenities depending on your hostel. Aquamarin is a new hostel but that is only for B.Tech 2 and 3 year. You will have proper ventilation and that also becomes passage for rats, snakes, flies and lizards.

The hostel facilities are very affordable, for around 36000 per year. Every student of every program will be allotted accommodation on the campus. The maximum occupancy in any room is 2. The rooms have separate beds, cupboards, tables, and electrical points. Every hostel has its own mess, on multiple floors according to the batch. The quality of meals is average, and the food is neutral and doesn't favor any regional foods. Students receive allotted rooms after their academic registrations are done.

During the time of physical registration, they will tell you which hostel you will get. Hostel mess food is not so good. 1 room is allotted to 2 boys. You will get new built Aquamarine hostel in 2nd year( for 2nd and 3rd year) and in the final year, you will get a single room(1 room for 1 boy).

Each room is alloted for 2 students. 2 beds 2 chairs 2 table and 2 almirah are provided in each room. You can get your own cooler if you want. For 10 students a single bathroom is alloted. The meal quality is very poor and not at all worth it for the fees that they are taking. The biggest con is the food they provide is extremely poor and needs improvement. Hostels are alloted as per the year it is ofnyour course. Girls and boys have separate hostels and are not allowed to enter each other's hostels. PG is not allowed every student must take the hostel which is offered by the college only. It is affordable but the meal they provide is not good.

Having lived at Jasper Hostel of IIT Dhanbad, I will be sharing my experiences with you-
The mess food is bad in taste. You’ll have to rely on Swiggy/Zomato or Amber Mess. The rooms are two-seater, and very small in size. Each room has a common cupboard, a granite shelf, and a LAN port.
The hostel has four blocks, but freshers get block A and D. Each hostel floor has 55 rooms and 4 washrooms. There’s a common room with a TV on each floor. The two hostel canteens remain open till late night. This is especially helpful during exam season.
The hostel has a Jio Wifi which offers 710 Mbps speed, and a limited data of 1 GB/per day. But the LAN has no data limits. It works from 6pm-2:30 am on weekdays, and day long on weekends. The hostel is located beside NLHC, RD and college library. The library has AC and high speed Wifi facilities.
Hostel will give you lifelong friendships, and everlasting memories. Make the most of your stay over here.
IIT Dhanbad has several girls’ hostels.
The newest among them is Rosaline. It is ten storey, and has spacious rooms. Each room accommodates two students at a time. Rosaline is available from second year onwards.
In your first year, you’ll get the Opal Hostel. Opal doesn’t look as grand as Rosaline from the outside, but it has almost the same facilities. Opal has the main canteen area just opposite to it, which is an advantage in itself.
These are the two girls’ hostels that I know about. Rest assured that the girls’ hostels at IIT Dhanbad are well equipped with all the facilities.
IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has decent hostels which offer a comfortable living environment for students. The institution has separate hostels for males and females. These hostels have all the basic amenities required by students.
There are a total of 9 hostels at IIT Dhanbad. Each of these buildings are named after a mineral or a metal such as the Amber Hostel, Diamond Hostel, Topaz Hostel, Emerald Hostel, etc. These hostels have 24 hour wi-fi facility, and all hostel rooms are air conditioned.
The hostel rooms are equipped with basic facilities like a single bed with a mattress, a bedside table, a study table, an almirah with a mirror, a revolving chair and a visitor's chair. The rooms are usually two-seater, and their size varies from one hostel to another. Common facilities such as washrooms with geysers, 24×7 water facility, a well organised cleaning staff for hygiene and cleanliness are also available.
A fire extinguisher, Aqua guard water purifiers, a washing machine, a refrigerator and a projector are also available in each hostel. The hostels offer various recreation facilities like TVs, indoor games, and outdoor sports facilities. The mess food is quite good, and the hostels are under constant CCTV surveillance. Security guards are present at the entrance, and outsider entry is strictly prohibited inside the hostels.
Here are a few pictures of the boys’ hostels at IIT ISM Dhanbad-

The hostel buildings are a bit old, but overall IIT ISM Dhanbad offers good residential facilities to its students.
