Question 1

Can I get direct admission to IIM Rohtak MBA without CAT?

Accepted Answer

No, IIM Rohtak does not offer direct admission or management quota seats. MBA applicants must qualify through CAT, with the General category typically requiring a minimum 97 percentile. Class 12 students must clear IPMAT Rohtak for IPM or CLAT for IPL. Shortlisted candidates must also clear a mandatory Personal Interview (PI) and meet academic eligibility criteria. Applications are processed through the official IIM Rohtak portal.

Question 2

Is work experience mandatory for IIM Rohtak MBA Admission?

Accepted Answer

No, work experience is not mandatory for IIM Rohtak MBA (PGP) admission, and freshers can apply. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and a valid CAT score. However, relevant professional experience receives additional weightage during the selection process and Personal Interview (PI) round.

Question 3

What is IPMAT Rohtak, and is it different from IPMAT Indore?

Accepted Answer

IPMAT Rohtak is conducted by IIM Rohtak for admission to its five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM). It has 120 questions, includes Logical Reasoning and has no sectional time limits. IPMAT Indore excludes Logical Reasoning, includes short-answer mathematics questions and imposes 40 minutes per section. Rohtak also gives 30% weightage to Class 10 and 12 performance, unlike Indore.

Question 4

Can I change my program after applying to IIM Rohtak?

Accepted Answer

No, IIM Rohtak does not allow program changes after application submission. Although a correction window may open for minor personal or academic details, it cannot be used to change the selected program. Candidates wishing to apply for another course must submit a fresh application and pay the registration fee, provided that program's application window remains open.

Question 5

Does IIM Rohtak conduct WAT for PGPM admission?

Accepted Answer

No, IIM Rohtak does not conduct a Written Ability Test (WAT) or Group Discussion (GD) for its flagship two-year PGP (MBA) admission. Selection considers the overall CAT score (60% weightage), Personal Interview (20%) and academic and gender diversity (20%). The institute does not consider sectional CAT cutoffs, assessing candidates based on their overall percentile and interview performance.

Question 6

Does IIM Rohtak consider CAT sectional scores or only the overall percentile?

Accepted Answer

IIM Rohtak considers the overall CAT percentile rather than sectional scores for MBA admission. Unlike IIMs that enforce sectional cutoffs, it does not disqualify candidates solely for a low score in one CAT section. General category applicants typically need an overall percentile of around 9597 to qualify for the Personal Interview (PI) round.
