You have to give the CUET entrance exam to qualify for the course. But first, you need to complete your bachelors degree as it is a post graduate diploma. The exams are in June-July and classes start by August - September. However it will be better if IIMC has its own exam instead of CUET

Admission:

The first and initial step was filling the form and then after the entrance exam, it was quite tough to pass the entrance exam. But anyhow I passed out with a good cut-off marks and then then the interviews were scheduled, and according to that the regional centres were offered to the students. It would have been good if students were given the choice to choose their centres but that's okay if they don't because we get to explore.

Admission:

Indian Institute of Mass Communication, a Mecca for aspiring mass communication students. The institute offers five professional courses covering all aspects of media. To study in IIMC, one should be a minimum graduate, and above the age of 21. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts CUET, which students have to qualify to get admission to IIMC. The test scores are evaluated and a total of four short lists are released. Usually, students with higher marks get into IIMC. The application form is made available by NTA on their official website, and it costs Rs.1000 for general, and Rs.500 for SC/ST students. 40% of seats are reserved for SC/ST and OBCs. The admission process isn't organized and as premiere institute the lack of professionalism by staff is infuriating. They need to hire better if they want to maintain the glory of this prestigious institute.

Admission:

The admission process was pretty easy and candidate friendly. It started with applying for the said courses online, later receiving admit card for the entrance exam. Appearing for the exam and if passed, you will be called for a personal interview. Within 10 days or so, I received my dates for the Personal Interview. The interview was a really wholesome and virtuous experience for me. It was a lot more subjective and based on the knowledge of what's happening around us. After the PI, my name was shortlisted in the first merit, and I was supposed to visit my campus and take up my hostel room, officially. All of the formalities, such as the fee payment etc, was done within 20 days, and I joined college the next month. Overall, it was a really smooth process. Honestly, it's just difficult to know how exactly I used the quota, but I secured the seat is from the SC category, as I made it in the first merit. I also applied at TISS, Mumbai, I cleared TISSNET, but I couldn't clear the PI.

Admission:

I gave an entrance examination of IIMC for English Journalism then I was selected for interview and group discussion i qualified and got IIMC Dhenkanal from my performance. Basically here you don't get to know marks only examination roll number and name is declared. Yes, the procedure is somehow similar to the civil services examination. I found the Journalism course interesting and I wanted to become Journalist as we all know media is the fourth pillar of democracy so it should be considered as important as bureaucrats examination because Journalist is the people who influence daily life of everyone be rich or poor, politicians or bureaucrats, etc. It teaches us the importance of the pen is a more powerful weapon. Entrance Examination is held in May end or June first week and then the interview is scheduled in July and classes to start from 1 August in all centers.

Journalist

Admission:

The admission process is very fair and completely on merit. There is an all-India entrance test which is taken by almost 8000 to 10, 000 students for the 180-odd seats. The test is based on general knowledge and writing skills. Those who clear the entrance, go through interview by an expert panel before being selected.

IIMC Delhi: 1 Answered Questions

What is the cutoff for IIMC English journalism?

Ravi GuptaStudied at Indian Institute of Mass Communication(2019)

IIMC does not have a fixed cutoff for any courses including English journalism. The required cutoff changes every year. Also, the cutoff list is not available for the students.

IIMC is one of the most reputed media institutes in India. The college administration conducts their own entrance examination, which is really tough to creak. You can apply for admission at IIMC online through their official website.

Being a renowned media institute it has limited seats for the courses that are offered here. To secure admission you have to perform well in the subjective entrance procedure, taken by this college. If you secure the required cutoff only then you will get a call for an interview.

According to the reviews of old students, the cutoff required for admission to English Journalism at the institute in recent years was as follows.

  •  OBC- 35
  • SC/ST- 22
  • General- More than 50 for IIMC New Delhi

From the above discussion, you should have gotten an idea about the cutoff required at IIMC for English Journalism.
