If you live in Assam and have a domicile you have to appear for CET entrance test. You can check about it in the website of AAU (aau.ac.in). The cutoff for general goes to 150+ rank for bsc, agri hons in Jorhat campus. Also you can apply by giving CUET-UG through ICAR. The admission process is offline, for counselling, you have to visit Jorhat campus. But for exam registration it is online. The reservation advantages are there for OBC, EWS, SC , ST, AAU employees quota, High fee, etc.

A typical NEET Or JEE aspirant Or a candidate with PCB with agriculture as the main subject can also fill out the ICAR UG form. The form will be available by Feb Or march and the examination date will be in May Or June. The examination occurs in online mode. After the ICAR UG scorecard, you have to register yourself for the counselling process and then different colleges like the college of agriculture, horticulture, and community science will be allotted to you. If you take admitted into a university outside of your domicile area then you will be eligible for the NTS scholarship which is around 36,000 per annum. Getting a scholarship is the best thing about ICAR. One scope of improvement, according to me, is in the document verification process which is too tedious.
We had to appear for an online entrance exam. Results were announced after few weeks. Students were called according to their rank for admission on specific dates. The entire Admission process took place in the auditorium.
Admission process is quite smooth for local students. They call them according to given schedule for counselling, fee deposition and other admission formalities. For ICAR students, the process is online however they are called to visit campus for document verification.
Admission is done through the University entrance exam/ ICAR and students from other states can apply for the Higher Fee category Students from NE get seats through NEC reservation. For details you can check the official website www.aau.ac.in
In the current scenario, demand for agricultural graduates are becoming higher with each passing day. So instead of opting for general degree colleges its better to get admitted in an Agricultural college. AAU provides this opportunity through its excellent academic staff and infrastructure. The admission process is usually merit based where about 70% seats are reserved for state quota and rest 30% for other states. Also you can give the ICAR entrance exam which is on all India basis. Details are given in the website www.aau.ac.in . The environment here is peaceful with greenery all around and far from city hustle and bustle though you can go to the city which is only 3 kms away.
Sericulture Industry in India needs special attention and the scope. Choosing to do BSc (Hons) in Sericulture was a life changing decision. The college was established in 2014. The college is yet to receive accreditation, hence the wide scopes are now limited. But the process is on the way, and once the accreditation is received, faculty and the students. The Admission process in AAU is merit based, the PCB percentage of 12th. It usually takes place during the month of June-July. The application is online, and students are called for counseling based on their scores. The seats of the different colleges under the University gets filled on the basis of the merit. I chose Sericulture because I was positive that I will be given a chance to contribute in this sector and I will be having a huge number of scopes. www.aau.ac.in is the official website of the University where the student can find all the information regarding the colleges and applications.
Until 2018, there was no entrance examination for admission in B.Sc Agriculture at Assam Agricultural University. The selection was based on 12th marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. From 2018 onwards, the university started taking entrance tests. If you are from an outer state, you will have to appear in the entrance test conducted by ICAR.
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts an all-India entrance test for admission into different agricultural universities of India. But if you are a resident of Assam, you can get admission based on your 10+2 PCB marks. There are also options of taking admission through high fee categories. Other than the ICAR entrance test, there are no specific entrance tests. Selection through ICAR is given based on ranking.
