The CSE departments of these universities are mostly recognized as research centers. The CSE department of JSSTE is accredited by NBA and has been collaborating with many reputed research institutes and IT industries. They provide a conducive environment to carry out research and education together.

The department at three of these engineering colleges can be characterized by faculty staff, laboratories, and placements.

Faculty

• The faculty members of JSSATE and NITTE Meenakshi University are better than BVBCET.

• The professors are actively involved in research paper publication in many national and international journals and conduct hands-on training programs and workshops every year.

• More than 30 faculties are there and most of them hold Ph.D. degrees along with research in different areas of IT and computer science.

Infrastructure

• The computer science laboratories at NITEE Meenakshi university are far better than the BVBCET and JASSATE. 
• They have 12 state-of-the-art laboratories and all are well equipped with WiFi internet connection and the computers are installed with necessary application software. 

Admission criteria

All these universities conducted entrance examinations for admission. Following are admission criteria by JSS, BVBCET, and NITEE Meenakshi university:

• Academic marks: The students who have passed in 10+2 science (PCM) with 45% from any of the recognized universities. The mentioned academic marks for admission are similar in three of these universities.

• Entrance examination: The entrance examinations accepted by these universities are KCET/JEE-MAIN or ComedK.

The placement record of 2019 at all these universities are quite impressive for CSE. The detailed information of placement are given below;

JSS:

• The highest CTC provided by JSSATE which is 43.17 LPA in 2019.
• Some of the top recruiters include Amazon, Adobe, Accenture, Wipro, Cognizant, Microsoft, Cisco, TATA, Intel, etc.

BVBCET:

• BVBCET offered the average salary package of 18-20 lakhs per annum through the placement process of 2019 and the highest package of 30 LPA.
• The top recruiters include Sony, TATA Hitachi, Amazon, Analog devices, IBM, Samsung R&D, etc.

NITEE Meenakshi University: 

• NITEE Meenakshi university provides the highest salary package of about 25-27 lakhs per annum.
• Some of the top recruiters of the university include Wipro, Infosys, Unisys, NUTANIX, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, HP, Dell, IBM, Accenture, etc.

JSS Bangalore and NITEE Meenakshi university are better options for computer science engineering as compared to BVBCET on the basis of CTC offered through placement drive.

KLE Technological University is a private and autonomous engineering college in Hubli is ranked 151 among top engineering colleges in NIRF 2019 Rankings. It has a campus of about 64 acres of campus area with a total of 1530 enrolled seats. A total of 18 courses across 4 streams is offered in KLE Technological Universities. It is well stable in terms of infrastructure, faculty, and placements and is a college with limited seats.

The college offers courses like B. Tech, B. Arch, MBA, M.Tech, and MCA. Branches offered in B.Tech are Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Automation and Robotics, Biotechnology. There are fewer branches after the institute became a university.

Cut Off:

The table below depicts the cut off for 2018 and 2017 at KLE Technological University for a few of the popular courses.

After the conversion into university, the number of branches at KLE Tech was reduced. As a result, the number of seats at the existing branches was increased. That is the main reason why KLE Technological University has a lower cutoff as compared to before. Here the placement record is also good for CSE students at KLE technical university than NMAM institute of technology, NITTE. Every year around 100 companies are coming to hire talented students and are offering good salary packages.

KLE Technical University:

NMAM Institute of Technology:

Sony, Informatica, Nokia L&T, Bharat electronics, TATA Hitachi, HP R&D, TATA motors, Tally, Tejas network, IBM, INSZoom, TATA insurance, etc. Salary package description provided below;

• Total 217 students were selected through placement while 7 students also got internship offers
• Robert Bosch has selected 50 students and a salary package of 14 lakhs per annum.
• Walmart offered 14 CTC.
• Microsoft, Amazon AWS, SAP labs, Akamai provided 9 LPA.

The placement statistics of KLE technical university reveals that undoubtedly KLE technical university is the best option among these two institutes.

KLE Technological University ranks 136 out of 300 Engineering colleges in India according to NIRF (2020). On the other hand, NITTE University ranks at the 133rd position for the same. Both colleges are among the top institutes in Karnataka and offer BE programs for CSE.

• There are 64 faculty members in the CSE department of KLE.

• The faculty of the department comprises 32 Assistant professors, 8 Associate Professors, and 3 professors. Moreover, there is 15 technical staff as well.

• There are 7 clubs in the department namely Finite Loop, Association for Computing Machinery amongst others.

• There are 10 prominent laboratories in the department such as RDBMS Laboratory, Systems Programming Laboratory, Logic Design Laboratory, etc.

• Additionally, the department has over 400 computers with 56+ application software.

KLE:

• Infosys, Robert Bosch, SAP Lab, Toshiba, Accenture, TCS, TechMahindra, Microsoft, SONY, Walmart Labs, etc are some profound recruiters of the CSE department in KLE.

• In the 2019 batch, 204 students of the department were successfully placed.

NMAM:

• Sony India, Hashedin Technologies, TEKsystems Global Services Private Limited, CGI, Faurecia, SLK Software, Attra Infotech, Netskope, Yokogawa Electric are some major recruiters of the CSE department in NMAM.

• In 2019, out of 208 eligible graduates, 174 students received job offers. Additionally, more than 7 students received internships.

• The highest salary package is 18.5 lakhs while the average package is around INR 4 LPA.

CSE as an academic course opens many options pertaining to Networking, Operating Systems, and Database Management among others.
