My experience in Sharavathi Dental College

The course curriculum is very well designed the university, they first teach the bacis in the first year , and in the second year they prepare us for the clinicals ( pre Clinical work ) , and in the third year we get exposure to patients in all the nine departments, and in final year more of the exposure is given.

In every Dental college , there will be a paid internship in our college itself , in our college the internship is compulsory and is of one year long , in which they will give a stipend of ?2000 per month. We have to take cases in all the departments as per postings.

The fee structure in my college is ?86500/- per year , excluding the college material fees , transportation fees , miscellaneous fees , which together asd upto ?50000/- , so the total fee structure would be ?86500 + ?50000 , this is the fee structure for Govt. Seat , for private seat it will be around 3Lakhs+ . Scholarships from Karnataka Govt. Like SSP NSP can be availed here.

Overall the campus experience is very nice !! We have an Annual fest happening every year , which is grandly celebrated for more than a Week !!. Apart from annual fest other programs are also carried throughout the year , various camps are also organised. Library is also very good here.

I am residing in the Hostel given by the college itself, it is very affordable, every year we pay ?30000/- , which is very cheap as compared to outside. We boys have a double sharing room , which is quite good , and spacious enough. As far as the mess is concerned, it depends on each person, its not that great but can thrive on it.

I choose this college because of the patient inflow it has in this city. Also since this is situated in the centre of the city , more patients are reffered to come go this hospital, most of them are reffered from the District govt. Hospital MCGann. Admission process is through NEET only.

The faculty to students ratio depends solely on the department. We have 9 departments in our college , and each department has around 5-6 staff including HOD. Every faculty is very friendly to us , very approachable. There will be One yearly exam conducted by RGUHS , and there will be Three Internal exams conducted by the college.

Nightlife in and around the campus is okay , not so good , because of the strict regulations of the college timings , we can't enjoy more time out in the night , all entertainment spots are far from college. Hostel timing is 9pm at night sharp. And gate closes at 8pm ( main gate ) .
