AB Shetty dental college review

Course Curriculum Overview :

Each subject has 5-6 different teachers. They teach each topic for tht subject. The faculty teach nicely and tell us important points exam view of point. Each day each teacher comes to teach us for every subject. For first years we have clinical postings so we get exposed or be able to learn new things

Fees and Financial Aid :

Year wise I will be paying 800000 per year since I took NRI seat Tuition fees admission fees altogether is 800000 My batch mates fees is 500000 that is they got into mangement quota. No st or sc reservations here in this college

Campus Life :

Overall campus life is good in AB Shetty dental college. They have good amount of social events. Events to enjoy, events to learn, adventure and so on. Since we just got admission we recently had concert and onam program and it was pretty good. Waiting for more in the days ahead! They do run sports and extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities :

There's free WiFi inside the hostel We get non veg every Wednesday and Friday When we take admission in college that time itself we do the adminstation process for hostel and affordability. This time for first year's girls got new hostel The rooms are clean and the there's a separate faculty to check on the hostel.

Admission :

I chose this AB Shetty college because it has really got reputation. In mangalore itself there are many good colleges but AB Shetty university has 3rd rank in terms of dental college. Also it is deemed to be University. My first preference was AB Shetty so at first allotment itself I got into this so i dint get rejection from any other colleges. To get into bds you have to be eligible in NEET

Faculty :

The faculty of this AB Shetty college is actually very friendly. To first years especially they take care of the students. They are strict in studies but beside that they are very friendly. We joined in September and our first internal exams are going to start in December So pretty much we havent got exposed to exams yet.

Night Life :

AB Shetty college has facilities for gym, library and public area to relax from a long day or so. Hostel timings for first three months we cant go out like that but if we have to go we can take the dean's permission and go after three months we have curfew at 8pm. Opp of college there are many hangout spots Students go there all the time. Since the college is in outskirts but it doesn't feel like that at all the place is fun

Course Curriculum Overview:

•The course is not that tough but it's not that easy too. •It requires dedication and time. •Theory is needed but in dentistry hand work is utmost important. •To excel in the clinics we should develop our hand skills. •A lot of patient flow helps the students to perform their best because they get tp practice more. •A lot of patience is required in this field. •One should have patience to get patients. •The exams are not very tough to crack. •Regular studies will help to score excellent marks •People also pass by studying from 1 month before the final exam

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always loved the subject of endodontics and that is what motivates me to join the course. I also love surgery. The curriculum prepared us quite well for the outside world. But if I had to suggest improvements ,it would be to use advanced technology which would be relevant and find its use in clinical practice . We still have a lot of outdated concepts being taught ,which can be replaced. For example, amalgam restorations, IOPAR, extra oral radiographic techniques , etc. Instead of these, emphasis could be laid on composite restoration, RVG etc The 3 internals are conducted once every 3 months and final exam happens once a year. As I have mentioned earlier ,going through previous years question papers and learning your skills thoroughly should suffice to achieve a good score in the exams
