Course Curriculum Overview

4

I always wanted to do something for the people. I was interested in choosing the medical field. So when I got the opportunity to do this course, so I felt lucky getting this opportunity. Scopes may be challenging but the happiness is intense after treating patients. Areas for improvement in the course curriculum is more scopes should be introduced and we should get more respect and high paying salary for existing in this field. Frequency of exam is twice a year But timing of exams and classes needs to be managed badly as exams are being conducted anytime without much gap. The datesheet releases and we get to know exams are within a week so it becomes challenging for us to prepare well for the exams. Exams should be scheduled in a better manner. So that students can get more time to prepare properly for exams. The clinicals prepares us for how to face patients and prepares us for the real world applications. We here make a good relationship with patients while giving therapy which we will cherish forever.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our course is 4 years long. For 1st year, we paid, 43,430. Fees from 2nd year to 4th year is 23,730. Hostel fees is 10,700. So the total amount is 34,430. Semester fees is 960 for each. The course is same for us but is increasing for new batches. For new batches, the course fees has increased for upto 10000 yearly and hostel fees has increased too.

Campus Life

3

There are not much fests held in our college. Food fest is held sometimes by patients as well as by students. Annual function takes place once a year. We enjoy very much. We organise batch performance. Ramp walk is the main focus of annual function I bet the ramp show held in our college in annual function is one of the best you could ever see. Magazines are published every year. Students make drawings, write poems and stories that too in their own different languages which are published and distributed among all the students. Other cultural events and festivals are also celebrated. Sports is given utmost importance. Sports week takes place every year where everyone gets the chance to play and improve their health. It is all sponsored by the college itself. Library is newly made this year with a lot more of facilities and new edition books. Books in the library are designated by computer, the row and column is written and we can easily go and find the book without asking for anybody's help. Books can be issued by library card given to every student. We can keep the book for a month, afterwards fine is applied and if we need to keep the book more than a month, it can be re issued for the same purpose.

Hostel Facilities

3

We are provided with a room shared with 3 others. You might get a chance to choose room and roommates as per your own wish or may be designated by the warden. It depends on the availability of rooms in the hostel. Meal is okkish as per the price. But the quality and quantity can be improved rather should be improved. As after such a hectic day, everybody wishes to have a good face to sustain. But the quality and quantity of mess food is decreasing day by day and the price is increasing day by day. After admission, students are choosed for the hostel depending on how far is there home from college, whether they want to live in a hostel or not. Hostels are given based on the ranks, higher ranks are preferred first. Many PGs and rooms are available nearby. You can choose whether you want to live in a hostel or pg. If you live in a hostel, you have to be strict about the in timings and will have to follow the rules precisely but you can have a good bonding with everyone living in hostel which will be of great help in the near future.

Admission

I choosed this college as I have heard a lot about the college, about its exposure to patient and the faculties, offcourse. I got confirmed admission in all the 4 institutes of India which conducts this exam but as I learned that this is the best college among all the colleges. I had to choose it. Eligibility - 12th pass with 75% aggregate Entrance is taken before admission to our course. CET (Common Entrance Test) Cutoffs depends on the rank and students get to choose the college and course based on their ranks scored and availability of seats. Previously, admission process was being conducted in offline way but now it's all digital. We had to go to the college where the admission process will take place, it was really hard to go to the place and carry the admission process. If we forget to bring anything mistakenly, it became very hard to manage everything that to in time. The admission process takes place easily online.

Faculty

4

Faculties in our institute are very friendly and have deep knowledge in this field. The books we read here are written by them only. So it becomes more easy for us to understand it. Faculty and student relationship is very good, they are always ready to help us and always encourages us to read. There are internals for some subjects and then semesters. The questions are pretty much good. Handful amount of students fail to clear semesters. Attendance is seen very much strictly here, if we fail to fulfill the attendance criteria we will not be able to give the exams even after having unavoidable circumstances we need to have full attendance otherwise we will have to do extra classes to cope up with the attendance requirement. Clinicals are given much importance. Everytime we are not having any theory classes, we are sent for clinicals where we interact with patients and we learn many new things everyday in clinicals. Our hands becomes free which will only help in near future while giving therapy to patients. We become more prompt while attending clinical classes.

Night Life

1

There is a river pool nearby and a tea stall where everyone usually hangouts and enjoys after a tiring day. There is not much places to roam around or hangout, we need to travel 10-15 kms to hangout. Our hostel closes by 7 pm so there is no late night activities but on new year eve and Diwali, DJ night happens inside the hostel premises. We also have a gym inside out hostel. There are no cafeteria or canteen in our college. Hostel in timings is 7 pm for girls and 9 pm for boys. We need to go to Cuttack or Bhubaneswar to hangout. We go to Nakhra, 16 kms apart to get to town. Our college is pretty much inside villages so it is not safe to roam around at night.

I choosed this course as I always wanted to help peoples. I always wanted to join a medical course. So when I got a chance to join this course, I felt overwhelmed and joined this college. There are fields that need to be improved such as utmost importance should be given to clinical classes rather than theory classes. Attendance should not be followed this strictly as due to unavoidable circumstances sometimes students fail to fulfil the attendance criteria, still they should be given a chance to face the examinations. The frequency of examinations are 2 times a year along with moderate level of difficulty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose to study Physiotherapy because I wanted to serve mankind and it was one of my dreams to serve humanity being a medical professional. Yes, I am happy that I am fulfilling my dream. In fact, in this proffession, I have to offer my services to disabled people and it's a great feeling when the patient comes in a wheel chair with all hopes of walking again shattered but returns walking on his feet. It gives a great feeling of satisfaction and their blessings matters a lot. It also teaches us that everybody in this world are facing their real world challenges and struggling for their existence. Of course, we have to study a lot as we have to deal with the human body, so we need to be that efficient and accurate to make them well. But yes, it's the beauty of this proffession all the hardwork turns into gold when the smile of patients return back and they return happily.
