Course Curriculum Overview

i choose this subject because it was new in the syllabus sociology is vast and intresting subject it is the only subject which relate us to our society and teaches everything about the past and future of the society how our society has developed from a phase

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 8000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

the total fees was 8 thousand for genreal cateogry and it varies for other caste and sections of society some students whoare from delhi itself gets state quota as well .the admission are based on merit only but now the pattern is changed as cuet tookplace

Campus Life

overall it was good experience as it was good return in terms of investing there used to many functions and govt schemes in our colleges which helped us more in achieveing our goals the studnet portal was good and stable

Admission

i did not applied to any other collges as i scored good percentage in class 12 i was confident enough that i will make it to 1 list as i scored 100 on 100 in sociology boards , i applied online in colleges which were offering my subjects and course and as the list was uploaded accoridng to the marks i made it in the 1 one

Faculty

there used to be 1to 2 section and each section used to consist of 60 students max .urna maam was the best teacher followed by archna maam and sharmishta maam there used to be monthly test and mock test as well ,exam pattern was 30 marks internal and 70 for theory

Night Life

it was good but i never stayed late night it was always some function where we used to stay upto late night that would be of diwali mela or holi mela otherwise there was good environment around thecollege

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Placement Experience:

Placements is for 3rd year students. Many good companies visit our campus like bajaj capital, oberoi group. Highest package is around 22 lakhs. We have a lot of internship and placement opportunities come in for students.

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Academic Excellence and Dream Professors, Great Crowd

Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell which comes up with lots and lots of internship and job offers throughout the year, you get multiple new job opportunities every week but the campus placement is not all that great, B Com courses have somewhat decent placements. the college doesn't push very much or try much to get students placed, you're on your own.

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.

Overall College life experience.

Along with Gargi college I chose some North campus colleges too because of high NIRF ranking . Due to high cut-off and belonging from a general category usually students are not able to crack north campus colleges. This is the main reason why competition is high and seats are less of we look at yearly registrations. You need to give CUET right after completing 12th standard in order to get into top ranked colleges. This college is not good enough for upgrading skill and knowledge.

I have applied many college such as IPU and other colleges of DU IPU have very costly and expensive fees structure where in DU have cheap. But DU addmission is based on CUET marks.
