What Students Say
Likes
- Affordability in fees and you can complete the entire degree in 2 lakhs
- Many scholarships are provided to the students
- The alumini network is very strong in the college, as it is one the oldest college in india
Dislikes
- As it is in a tier 4 town, the exposure we students get is very low
- Placement isn't very satisfactory than compared to private colleges
- The hostel food and rooms are decent at best
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose EEE as it is a circuital branch and I believed it would be easier to shift in IT, if I couldn't find a core job. However over time I have developed quite a in interest in this field because of the curriculum. The facilities encourage students to write examinations like GATE
Internships Opportunities
I am quite unsure about the internship opportunities available, however though you can't get many internship through the college there have been senior who got internship through allumni support. There are Mini projects in 3rd Year and major project in final year. There is also a intra-college project building competition organised by the alumini called Thiran.
Placement Experience
Only a mediocre or poor placement opportunity is available, a main factor which has caused the poor placement record is the remote location of the college and small student strength. Because of the low student number, most IT mass recruiters are not ready to come here
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees is 13000 for the first year, every year the fees is reduced as the student moves to the next year. You can complete your entire degree at under 2-2.5 lakhs including hostel fees. There is no management fees. Many scholarships are provided.
Campus Life
The college has decent infrastructure, considering it's fees. It is one of the oldest college in India so it has a ruch history. The atmosphere in the campus is really nice. I found the seniors really friendly, many events are organised by the seniors to accomodate the first years, through club events.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility isn't anything worth mentioning, it's a 70 year old college. So many of these buildings are quite old. However it's changing quite rapidly through allumni support, separate hostel facilities with morden day infrastructure are built. The hostel food is really bad, but again for 1500-2000 rupees a month it's a fair deal. You can find many PG's in the locality.
Admission
I tried to give JEE and get into a IIT or NIT, however I fell short in my preparation and I sadly couldn't make it. A factor that drove me to pick this college was it's affordability.I felt it's better than private colleges.
Faculty
Our college follows Anna University curriculum and being a autonomous college, certain minimal changes are made the curriculum. The facilities are experienced and are ready to help the students in any academic doubts they have
Interview Experience
There weren't any group discussion rounds. The college is allotted through the TNEA councilling. There weren't any perticular written amount or special group discussion organised for the admission in this college
Night Life
The college timing is 9:20-4:45, we also get about 1 hour break in the noon. There aren't many places to visit in and out of the campus, as it is a tier-4, but you can still keep yourself occupied. There are gym, library and canteen facilities, however gym is only accessible to the atheletes who are regular to other sports activities which is quite disappointing.
Other Applied Colleges
