Course Curriculum Overview
From 9th standard, I, being influenced by my school teachers, and books, decided to learn about the English Literature more, and after 12th, I got opportunity to enroll one of the esteemed colleges in Kolkata, St Paul's Cathedral Mission College. This very college in this particular regard, is very progressive and they regularly conduct seminars, debates etc to help us to improve ourselves for the real world. The exams are conducted after every six months, and their difficulty level is kind of between modern and difficult. But the teachers prepare us enough to give it well.
Fees and Financial Aid
I've taken admission in St Paul's Cathedral Mission College for 4 years BA , in English Literature, under CCF, 2022 by NEP. For the first year I've paid about ?5000 and have recently taken admission in 2nd year with ?4000 almost. There're many scholarships available here, like K2 for females, SVCMC for both male and female students. There're numerous debates, competitions including essay competitions, poster making competitions and various seminars are also organised in our very esteemed college.
Campus Life
We, in particular, got 4 fresher's party. One form the college union, another from the Mirchi Bangla, another from College Chapel and the last from the English Department of our college. The library herez even being small in structure, has more than enough stock of books. I've personally gone through many of them. There're projectors installed in most of the classrooms. The computer section, though I don't have it in my course, but I've heard it's maintained greatly here. There's an annual sports here. And also the college fest goes on for almost 4 days. There're many students group here, nature's club, cultural society, etc. students go there and practice various social works
Admission
From one of my relatives I got to know about this very college for the first time. Then I did some research on internet and in other sections and finally wanted to take admission in this very college after my 12th exam. I've applied almost every college in this area and I almost took admission in another college cuz till then I couldn't fill the criteria. It was obviously not low in this very esteemed college. When at last moment, much to my relief and I got to take admission here. Now after spending a whole year here, I do not regret.
Faculty
The faculty members in my college are very helpful. Both the teaching and non teaching staffs treat us very well. We can easily discuss our problems with them without any hesitation. Teachers take our tests. And apart from this, the university exams are conducted as per instructions.
Interview Experience
I didn't actually face any tests before admission but we do have many group discussions in general on daily basis in our college. The process is, after 12th, you have to go to the spcmc website, and have to apply for admission in this very esteemed college, and the admission takes place as per your score in boards, the call lists would be out and you have to check it regularly to get up to date with the check list, that's it. If your name is there in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th list, or if there any other lists, you'll get admission in this college. After admission, they'll give you the date, and the verification will take place, and after that, you'll come to this college as a student! Well, I was really nervous in my time, the criteria is ofcourse very high in this very esteemed college, and I couldn't see my name even in the 5th list, I almost lost hope that I won't get admission in my desired college, but very fortunately, I got to see my name in may be 6th list.
Night Life
There's a gym in our college campus, where nshy students go and take part in activities. As our college is near the College Street, we go to many cafeterias with our friends to hang out. But I really don't have any experience of roaming around at night in the college campusm so can't say anything about it.
