Course Curriculum Overview

4

CSE and other streams syllabus is same like other colleges, There is a department Btech Computer science and business system which was offered by TCS and this dept syllabus alone differ from others and is really effective for students to crack their interview cuz all the subjects are designed by TCS.May be teaching method can be improved lab timings can increase. Other than that everything is good.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship we have to attend interviews, and many of my frds are going now. Companies like Pickyour trail, BNY MELLON,MATHCO,AMAZON provided Internship. And some of them will be going intern from jan 2025.

Placement Experience

5

Placements in REC is the one thing which is pretty good compared to other colleges, they also provide summer and winter training program for Placements. They will give trainings for aptitude and programming to clear the interview round. They will have staffs from FACE PREP for the training. Many companies will be coming for Placements so no need to worry but the only criteria is student should not have any standing arrear at the time of Placement and should have a cgpa of 7 and above.Students are allowed to attend Placement from the 6th sem ,Mostly all of them got placed in 7th sem itself. The highest package ranges from 19 to 27 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got admission through TNEA counselling in 2021 batch And i am from SC caste so My overall fees was 145000 per year,it includes every other miscellaneous fees too. If you are outside from Chennai and you need hostel facilities, you have to additionally pay 35k per year it includes both food and accommodation. The quality of stay and food is pretty good. They also provide scholarships for SC/ST students for above 50k per year. For management students they have to pay donations for each department. For cs/it streams donation amount varies from 8-9 lakh and other departments around 4-5 lpa.For my batchmates who came from management they paid Tution fees 2 lakh per year and donation for cs streams was 4 to 5 lakhs. This was all for 2021 batch. Now currently they fees structure may differ slightly. About placements it is all pretty good they really provide good companies and opportunities. So nothing to worry about that.

Campus Life

4

Overall the experience was good at REC,We had many events Symposium and other fun activities too. I got placed in LTI mindtree for 5lpa so i am very thankful for the college. It was a very memorable one.

Admission

Since i went through TNEA counselling, i had other options such as SRM, SSN,Saveetha but i did many researches about REC the review was good. Mainly placements were good so that is all we want.So i opted for REC.I also liked CIT college but i couldn't get admission there because my cut off was 187 in 12th std. In CIT for counselling you need atleast 190 cutoff then only you can get good department. So after CIT we can go with REC.

Faculty

3

The faculty-to-student ratio at Rajalakshmi Engineering College is fairly balanced, ensuring that students can receive individual attention when needed. CS and ECE staffs are pretty good ,their teachings are good.Totally we'll be having 8 sem and 3 CAT exams for each sem. Each CAT we will write for 75 marks and sem 100 marks. Mostly all the students can clear the exam if you didn't score well or fail all the 3 cats then its difficult to clear sem.

Night Life

5

We have separate gym for girls and boys. You can use it any time you want.About hostel, you have to leave hostel at 7.50 am for class and for girls they have to check in before 5pm after classes got over for boys the checkin time is 9pm. Library is open all the time except in night time. The main gate of the campus will be closed at 6 pm in the evening. The campus is totally safe no need to worry. Cafeteria will be opened till 5 pm. Food is okay in quality dont expect too much. Hangout spots can be queesland, evp filmcity ,restaurants etc.
