Course Curriculum Overview

5

I love real world problem solving. I preferred EEE or MECH. I got mechanical in the counseling. That's how I ended up being a mechanical engineer. The curriculum has a 45 days internship training in industries which will help you in your placements if you do the internship seriously. The portions are based on Anna University syllabus. Absolutely, everywhere there is a need of improvement in every corner of the world. The curriculum should adopt the theoretical and practical applications. The frequency of examinations will be around 5 to 6 months.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is two ways of getting internships. You can get it by yourself. The second way is the department you are studying will help you to get an internship in nearby companies. But it purely based on the deparment initiatives. But mostly you will get internships through college. There is more projects are going on. You can join any programs as you co-curricular acitivity, so you can get much practical experience.

Placement Experience

5

The students can get placements from their 6 th semester. The large recruiter is TCS. They wil hire with around 5 lpa. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the average lpa is arouund 5 lpa. Generally, around 90 percent of the students will get placed in the campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure in my college is around 1,00,000 totally. It will include all the fee including book fee and other fee such as registration fee, admission fee, development fee. The lab fee will be around 300 rupees per semester. If your from SC categories you'll get govenment scholarships.

Campus Life

5

They will conduct annual culjtural fests and sports day fests. The special thing is that many film audio launches will happen here. The students will get free tickets also. There is central libray where you will get variety of books. The infrastructure is good. The importance of sports and extracurricular activities is medium in this campus. But if you have certificates in the sports you'll get full support. There is so much of student run clubs are here.

Hostel Facilities

4

In the room you'll get one personal almirah, study table with cupboard and chair. You will get unlimited fast internet connection everywhere inside the hostel. Truly speaking, the taste of the food in most of the times will be superb compared to many other college mess. You can register for hostel during your course admission. You can also go Tambaram to rent PG.

Admission

I applied to Anna university, Thiyagarajar Engineering College and many other colleges also. But this college holds a unique value for entrepreneurship development. So I chose this college. I just preferred this college over other colleges. The admission process is divided into two catagories. You can enter here through the TNEA or you can enter through managament quota. Cut offs for the software branches will be around 186 marks in the counseling. For the core branches it will be around 160 marks.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio will be better here andl also it differs from department to department. for my department it will be around 20:1. The relationship between the student and faculty is good here. They are following a mentor system, which will help students guided by a mentor for the four years in the whole college days. My favourite faculty is Dr. Vaidyanathan. He is thermodynamics professor and he is the best professor in the college. Most of the faculties in my department are so good. So I didn't particularly dislike anyone. There will be 3 internal exams for every semester and it will be so easy. The semester exams will also be so much easy. The number of students failing in the exams is low but significant due to their lethargicness and lack of preparation. Its in my point of view.

Night Life

2

Generally, there is no night life in our college. You will be in your hostel rooms in nights. If you are in any extra curriucular activities then you may stay in the labs in the nights with your male teammates. Rarely, there is some hangout places, but generally students are not allowed to hangout.
