VIPS is a great place!!

Dislikes

  • Life though is too hectic for students and enjoying the fests along with studies is quite tough.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It is accentuated a bit when students say they want to pursue law. More and more students want to pursue law and therefore I also decided to study law. Our course has everything though I am still in my first year but from 1st year we have law subjects and BA subjects which include History, Psychology and English too.

Internships Opportunities :

Khaitan & Co, and Nishit Desai has termed an agreement with our college where 4th year students of law can intern with them. Wadia & Gandhy also have beocme partner who pick 3rd year students of our college for winter sessions.

Placement Experience :

For placements at VIPS, are not God level but no less too. Every student here gets a chance to intern with top law firm and then either get to work with them or corporate houses like Aditya Birla Group, Johnson & Johnson and HUL among others are the private players who sign us with an average annual package of 8.25 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid :

VIPS which is one of the most decorated colleges in Delhi charges less than its peer MAIMS as we have to pay a fees of 1,21,400 exactly. This is for general category students but for reserved category they get a concession of 40-50% on the annual tuition fees.

Campus Life :

Ours is a huge campus and has not just a couple but 3 canteens in all. The best part is that we have 5-7 moot auditoriums. Two play grounds and one is specifically for football. Now coming to the fests our annual fest is called Initio and all 3000 students of the college are seen grooving during the fests.

Admission :

Well with a CLAT score of 4500+ I couldn't make it to top NLUs as NALSAR was my dream. Well, then it was a toss up between MAIMS and VIPS and I chose the latter. IP CET score upto 500 or CLAY ranking upto 8000 are accepted here and that is how admission are given at VIPS.

Faculty :

Always a buzz about the faculties of VIPS as we have like the best legal faculties on earth. There's always a feeling on what's likely to happen in the class as all our classes are made so interesting by our faculties that we never feel bored.

Night Life :

Delhi's one of the best hangout spot which is Majnu Ka Tila is closest to our college. Rohini Srctor 18-19 is what I use for commuting. Among fancy cafes Cafe Crew Brew and Third Wave Cafe are popular but among students it's the food stalls that are at the campus which are more popular.

The students here opt for diverse career options including judiciary, UPSC, MBA, litigation, LLM, or sit for placements. Tier one firms visit the campus on day zero to offer placements. The students sit for placements at the start of the fifth year.

Placement Experience:

The college provides good placement for BBA and MBA programs. But if we talk about the Law program, there are no such good placements that are provided by the college. Though in papers there are companies and law firms which come to the college hardly any students get those placements or students prefer to go for out-of-college placements as they are better than the ones provided by the college. Students who are really serious about the program and skills are doing fine by finding internships and placements on their own.

University provide placements where manytop tier firms come to college for recruitment. Last few years have been bad for NLUD with only 50-60 percent placements. Before that there used to be 100 percent placement.

Placement Experience:

There was no placement in the college. In my memory only 4-5 students got placed during the course. Placement cell is very lethargic and inactive. Instead of taking their support students prefer to join senior advocate under whom they have done internship.

From 10th semester students start getting placement offers.. I din not recall some company names.. but they are not big names they are just normal law firms. Highest package one can get is 4 LPA. Very less students go for placement. My plan after degree is to study for judiciary exam.
