An Extremely Honest Review.

Dislikes

  • You're not allowed to leave till 4:30 pm except for emergencies, so you can't prioritize certain classes over another.
  • You can't leave a certain free period and go study in the library, atleast for first year students. They keep you engaged all the time.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum in my course is thoughtfully designed, giving an exposure to worldy technicalities like Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering in first year. In addition to it, it provides emphasis on tech grounds as well in later years. Adding industry- level assignments, hands-on projects and incorporating teaching methods that actively encourage innovation and creativity, may improve the quality of students. Introduction of project-based learning would give students chances to develop problem solving tactics. Exams are scheduled at regular intervals, providing enough time for preparation. Frequent internal exams improve us more. Though, I really feel that inculcating practical application-based assessments will foster a more comprehensive understanding.

Placement Experience :

In seventh, and eighth semester, students become eligible for placements. Various companies like HCL, Cognizant, etc and starups visit campus and make offers. For CSE, the highest package was 6 LPA last year, and average was around three. Students do get placed, but they prefer offline more, as told by seniors. I might want to get placed in fourth year just like others, or may go for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid :

I am a general category student, with a fine percentage in 10th and 12th. For the B.Tech Course in CSE, I was asked for a lakh rupees every year excluding the AKTU exam charges which is an extra 7.5k - 8k rupees every year. That one lakh rupees included the cost of books, uniform, lab or library charges, admission and counselling charges. Well, I've some of my batchmates who joined for much less than that, even after being a general category student. Probably, source matters. One of my seniors from second year joined for 60k, due to some familial relations with management. Plus, if you've been a good student on your marksheets till 12th, honourable Director General may reimburse some amount of your fee. Regarding scholarships, the institute doesn't have its own scholarship as of now, but the management supports regular attendees for UP scholarship or the central one. If you're eligible, they will forward your application. They are supportive for that.

Campus Life :

Internal Hackathons, Seminars, Dandiya Nights, Sports Day, Events at Student Clubs are some events that happen over the course of year. Technical books including the course books, and GATE preparation materials are available at the library. Classrooms are air conditioned, equipped with projectors as well, alongwith whiteboards. Extracurricular activities are mainly conducted by students club, funded by the management. Samanvay Club, GDC etc are some social groups that run at BNCET.

Admission :

Going and living out from home poised a concern in front of my parents as they are extremely concerned over their girl's safety. This limited my number of choices and I had to choose from the ones local to us. We went to various campuses, but my dad immediately knew that this college had to be the one. The reasons were simple- it was not that far from my home, the management is supportive, and discipline is the main concern for the college. I approached directly for the admission, though later joined through AKTU counselling. JEE mains score were enough to get me admission here.

Faculty :

Three sections for CS and Civil, with 60 students in each class. Faculty is approachable. They are very supportive and thus, clear doubts in the class as well. Students may go to their respective cabins for doubts in college hours as well. I, personally, like faculty for Electronics and FME and the Chemistry Lab Instructor. They are extremely supportive and always helpful. I don't hate any teachers there, but it might be tough for students to work parallely with Soft Skills Faculty, for she's very much inclined towards discipline, ettiquettes and work. Structure of Exams: For first year, each semester, 2-3 Class tests, 2 Sessionals, One Pre-University Test (Mock Exam) and then, the final University Exam. Though, for second year and onwards, Class tests are dropped off. Failure and success, truly depends on the quality of the batch. The course curriculum is fine, AKTU-based. New topics are considered, many are dropped off, on the basis of requirements of Engineering, as per AKTU syllabus.

Night Life :

I'm not a hosteller but I've plenty of friends from Gargi (Girls Hostel), and they are not allowed to leave the hostel after sunset, without the permission of the guardian. Though, they are allowed to buy stationary and stuffs inside the complex. Campus timings are 9am to 4:30pm, for both day scholars and hostellers.

Other Applied Colleges

Babu Banarasi Das University - [BBDU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

The student culture is toxic, as told by alumni.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My neighbour prefered this college to study for my b.tech course.. I was fixed my intentions to make my graduation in this college.. this collage not only gave knowledge of books and course.. they can teach us to how to live in this generation and some personal matters. I suggesting that improve the lab facilities like comfortable chairs like that.. in the beginning exams are very difficult to write.. but at the end we passed out with good marks and good knowledge.
