Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this branch because of my inclineness towards core engineering it's really a good branch if anyone interested in core engineering. The course curriculum is not updated and the same thing was teaching to all the batches. In today's world many advanced technology are available there is no point of teaching only theory parts which are not applicable to professional life. the course needs to incorporate the new topics which are discussed in world so that students get exposure of these technologies and it wiil be helpful for them. Class timings are from 9.40am to 5pm mon to friday and theory and labs both are conducted in these time.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I had admitted to Asansol engineering college in 2019 through wbjee in civil department. The fees was 4lakh 20 thousand in my time now it is significantly increased. The overall campus and college is good management is good. The lab facilities and classrooms were decent.Although overall quality of teaching methods should be improved. You have to pay exam fees of 1200 before every semester.I am day scholar so i don't have much idea about hostels. college oraginzse various sports events but the ground quality is not good, the canteen service is very poor and quality of the food was terrible.Colleges doesn't provide any internship you have to find it in your own in final year. placement of the core branches are not upto the mark and very few core companies had come to the campus. My advise is try better colleges in Kolkata or out of the state in your first option.
Campus Life :
There are many technical, social clubs in college if anyone interested in these activities they can join these clubs and. these clubs organize various events. library facility of our colleges is really good it has a lot of books and plenty of space to read without any disturbance and it has wifi facility also. the classroms having boards although I think it should be converted to digital classroom for convenience of students and quality of learning. THE main cultural fest legenzaa organize almost every year for 2days.
Admission :
I also applied for other collges in Kolkata and oyt of state and i got confirmation from these colleges also but because of many reasons and locaton suitability i choose these college also i got my favourite branch. one have to give wbjee for admission in this college and depending upon your rank and preference branches will be allocated to you. Admission process was smooth and transparent without any hackle. otherwise direct admission also done basis of the seat vaccant after 1st round admission
Faculty :
There are five faculty members in our time and there were almost 50 students in our batch. Relationship with faculties are decent many of them are supportive in nature, there are many faculty who had big ego and their style of teaching were so outdated i feel and they are not interested to receive feedback from us. There are 4internal exams consist of 25marks each which includes assignments,quiz, class test, questions of these exams are considerably easy almost all the students clear these internals but marking system was very poor. The semester exams are generally moderate to difficult depending on the subject and there are many students who couldn't clear the papers for these supply exams conducted additionally 1000rupees have to paid for that exam. course curriculum is little bit outdated it needs to update with time.
Interview Experience :
There is no GD or interview based on your wbjee rank you will be admitted you have to carry all your 10th, 12th marksheets, wbjee rank card and all other important document they need self attested photocopy of these documents
Night Life :
there is other facilities like gym stationery shops also are in campus. Stationary shop is pretty good you can get most of the things but the price is higher than market. gym is mostly operate in evening it is not good condition and machinery are old. there are 3 seperate hostels for boys and for girls there are different hostels. I am day scholar so dont know details about hostels policy and regulations.
