Course Curriculum Overview

I have always likr creative stuff thats why i chose this course. The curriculum is well designed to help us prepare for the industry. You will have jury by the end of the sem and 2 assignment in between the semester

Class Size: 35Course Fees: INR 32000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Im just a first year so i havent done any internships yet. But from some of my seniors i heard you have to find internship opportunity yourselves. I will start looking for internship after second year.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the first sem the fees was around 1.83 lakhs. For one year it will be around 3.2 lakhs i guess. They are few scholarships you can apply like Sartak. Sartak requires the annual income of your family. The college will provide more details about it after you join the college. I am not sure the scholarships before i didnt get any.

Campus Life

There are 4 clubs . All the them are really active. Most of the events in the college are hostes by clubs. Cultural club hosts atleast one dj every month. But the college doesn't have any programs to interact with seniors like freshers

Hostel Facilities

For first year, you will only get non ac 3 share rooms. From 2 year onwards you can get 2 share ac. Rooms and food are ok ok. Hostel fee is 58000 per annum and mess fee is 14000 per sem. They provide utility room with oven , kettle ,fridge etc

Admission

I chose this college because it is national college and one of the best design college in the world. Nift kannur is close to my hometown. You have entrance exams to get into nift. General ability test ,creative ability test and situation test .

Faculty

Faculty student relationship is really good. You have to behave really good towards your family. Your marks will depend on that. As you all know nift doesn't really have any written exam , we have jury. Jury could be every hard to some peoplem. It depends on how well you prepared.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I joined cause I saw photography in the syllabus and after joining I understood what design was how vast it is. All the courses prepare us for real life challenges and the assignments are of that sort. I feel like the aspect of bringing in visitiong faculties they should also listen to whoever the students need. The jury is not that hard if youa have done your assignments timely and there is ample amount of time for submission.

The pros and cons of ASAS KOCHI

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of 1st year there is no much to study most of the time you are free and will be wandering here and there with events. The curriculum is not that great, there are a lot of unwanted topics to study and the curriculum based of the course is less and are not taught properly. They should remake the course curriculum for our benifits. By the seniors we came to know that going further the topics are going less and less which is concerning and the teachers and not regular to classes. Therefore the curriculum is not that applicable to our future. The curriculum given in there site made me choose this course but the content in it is not much satisfied. There is only one exam other than the sem exam. The papers are well balanced with application level questions and the papers are pretty lengthy.

A rollercoaster of 4 years

Placement Experience:

The college's placement opportunities are somewhat limited, especially for students pursuing creative fields like Communication Design. While a few companies visit the campus for recruitment, the number of roles and the variety of industries are not very extensive. Many students find themselves relying on off-campus opportunities or internships to secure employment. The college does provide some support through placement cells, but the assistance could be more structured and proactive. Despite these limitations, the experience of participating in placement processes has helped students build confidence and prepare for professional opportunities

Remarks:

If you speak about college management the faculty is lack a bit in communication but yet they try their best. the decisions taken in the college are pretty late. The infrastructure and other college management is amazing it is very smooth.

I had applied to different courses, like law or architecture. But I didn't pursue the above said courses as NIFT gave me a better opportunity to dive into different streams and more interesting perspectives. There was no rejection from any college. There is an entrance exam for B.Des- which consists of 2 written tests - creative aptitude test and genetal aptitude test, followed by a situation test and then admission counselling. Nift kannur review

I didn't really applied for any other college as my preference was only fixed to national institute. As you know the status and prestige a national institute holds compared to any other private colleges. Admission process of nift started through giving nift entrance exam which was held by NTA in year 2024. Great Experience at NIFT

You have to clear the NIFT entrance exam first and then get qualified and then atend the situational test. And based on the rank there will be a councellimg session where you ll alotted the college you want based on the availability of seats.
