Likes

The faculties are really industry experienced
The college provides students freedom of expression
All are treated equally and no discrimination is made

Dislikes

The course fees is too much and not affordable
Even if we are sick or in any bad situation that we cannot attend the classes, our attendance is still marked absent and we are forced to do rejury and pay fees . Even in worst situations they wont consider our situations.
The fact that the college is placed in the middle of nowhere like there is not much anything nearby

Other than the main course we are learning form college we also have so subjects like idm, floating and general elective. We also have alumni talk and industrial experienced people who gives us classes about the industries often

Internships Opportunities

College dont provide any internships. But the faculties will help us contact companies and get us into the companies for internships. Internship is mandatory in 2nd 3rd and 4th year in our college . We have internship jury also

Placement Experience

From 8 th semester we can go for placements.for placements we are supposed to go to campus in delhi and bangalore. There are less chances of getting placements .The highest package will be more than 2 lakhs

Fees and Financial Aid

About the tuition fees, it keeps increasing 10% every year. Right now in 2024 the fees is almost 3 lakhs. College provides 2 scholarship, sarthak and udaan. Sarthak is for students whose annual income is less than 8 lakhs. There are different categories and is divided into 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Udaan scholarship are for students who got into student exchange program

Campus Life

All nift campuses have 2 fests in common that is spectrum and converge. Spectrum is department wise competition and converge is all nift campus competition. We also have different clubs like cultural, sports, ESS, and Literary who organize all events

Admission

Nift is one of the topmost fashion college in the world. It was my dream to get into that college.My hometown is in kannur so i opted for NIFT KANNUR. For getting into nift we are supposed to write entrance exam called CAT and GAT

Faculty

Most of the faculties are really nice and approachable. The faculties really help us during our jury times. Im from bf tech department and all the faculties are really helpful. They have really experienced and industry exposed

Course Curriculum Overview:

I joined cause I saw photography in the syllabus and after joining I understood what design was how vast it is. All the courses prepare us for real life challenges and the assignments are of that sort. I feel like the aspect of bringing in visitiong faculties they should also listen to whoever the students need. The jury is not that hard if youa have done your assignments timely and there is ample amount of time for submission.

The pros and cons of ASAS KOCHI

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of 1st year there is no much to study most of the time you are free and will be wandering here and there with events. The curriculum is not that great, there are a lot of unwanted topics to study and the curriculum based of the course is less and are not taught properly. They should remake the course curriculum for our benifits. By the seniors we came to know that going further the topics are going less and less which is concerning and the teachers and not regular to classes. Therefore the curriculum is not that applicable to our future. The curriculum given in there site made me choose this course but the content in it is not much satisfied. There is only one exam other than the sem exam. The papers are well balanced with application level questions and the papers are pretty lengthy.

A rollercoaster of 4 years

Placement Experience:

The college's placement opportunities are somewhat limited, especially for students pursuing creative fields like Communication Design. While a few companies visit the campus for recruitment, the number of roles and the variety of industries are not very extensive. Many students find themselves relying on off-campus opportunities or internships to secure employment. The college does provide some support through placement cells, but the assistance could be more structured and proactive. Despite these limitations, the experience of participating in placement processes has helped students build confidence and prepare for professional opportunities

Review of the college

Remarks:

If you speak about college management the faculty is lack a bit in communication but yet they try their best. the decisions taken in the college are pretty late. The infrastructure and other college management is amazing it is very smooth.

Student Experience at NIFT

I had applied to different courses, like law or architecture. But I didn't pursue the above said courses as NIFT gave me a better opportunity to dive into different streams and more interesting perspectives. There was no rejection from any college. There is an entrance exam for B.Des- which consists of 2 written tests - creative aptitude test and genetal aptitude test, followed by a situation test and then admission counselling. Nift kannur review

I didn't really applied for any other college as my preference was only fixed to national institute. As you know the status and prestige a national institute holds compared to any other private colleges. Admission process of nift started through giving nift entrance exam which was held by NTA in year 2024. After passing 1st stage of nift entrance exam i entered the second stage which is known as situation test in which you have to make models according to the topic. Great Experience at NIFT

You have to clear the NIFT entrance exam first and then get qualified and then atend the situational test. And based on the rank there will be a councellimg session where you ll alotted the college you want based on the availability of seats.
