Good teaching buy facilities and good infrastructure for class rooms ( fully air conditioning available)

Class starts very early not like other medical Colleges,it can start at 9.00 am
Some departments are not very student friendly

Course Curriculum Overview

*Mbbs curriculum is informative and knowledgebale It ables students to learn about diseases ...live patient interaction and patient knowledge essential for survival in the future -Curriculum for 3rd year is vague it can be shortened and duration should be trimmed and more time should be given for final year course -Exams are conducted by university once a year And regular internal assessment are conducted once in two months or once a month

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 13000 per year

Internships Opportunities

*government internship (compulsory rotatory internship)is available and salary is provided approx 27-30k per month *Other internships are based on personal interest and availability of vacancies No other internships are available

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for first year is 18,000 from 2024 batch before that it is 13,000 for first year,7300 for second year,5100 for third year.... Government scholarship is available based on community, private scholarships may be available Hostel fees and mess bill has to be paid monthly and exam fees during the time of examination

Campus Life

**College day ( culturals plus magazine release)is held annually and sports day is held annually other cultural events are held regularly with active participation from all the batches and facilities guide us in a good way Sports (men and women) *Cricket *Basketball *Volleyball *Foot ball *Futsal *Kabadi

Hostel Facilities

*Hostel has a decent accommodation with 3 person in a room .. menu is good and taste of the food is average to good *Registration for hostel must be done at hostel premises *Pg and rental houses are available near the college as well

Hostel Fee: INR 72000 per year

Admission

*I applied to all the old government colleges in Tamil Nadu like MMC, Stanley, madurai, tirunelveli etc....because they are old and will have better facilities *I got transferred from Dindugal medical College,I preferred Kanyakumari as it is a old college and comparatively it has many advantages and seniors *NEET UG for mbbs admission and appropriate scores to secure seats in government medical Colleges

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is good... like one faculty available for nearly 20 students..some departments are very student friendly and approachable but some are not very student friendly... Most of the faculty are approachable and friendy

Chengalpattu medical college overview

Course Curriculum Overview:

I personally like science so i took up this course. The college prepares you very well for the real world. By the end of the 5years you would become a full fledged doctor. The current teaching methods are fine but more of mcqs should be concentrated rather than theory writing. According to me the internals are fine but the university exams are very difficult.

Life in CMC

Placement Experience:

The students in their internship will get around 35000 per month excluding their mess fees, they have the option to opt out of the mess. And once they finish their internship they had to do two years bond in places where the colleges allot them and the salary for those two years will be decided by the place the person goes and itll be definitely more than what they get during internship.

Being a doctor, I can help people a lot. There is a lot to study and knowing the human body, to cure disease, and much more is a great experience. The curriculum prepares me to do great in my future endeavors. The thing I think they lack is a bit more clinical exposure for all students separately. Teaching methods are all good. They conduct exams after each important section, they teach. Around 6-7, internal exams are kept.

Remarks:

Speaking about positive remarks the teaching is very good, faculties are the best, the college campus is away from the city rush. I am talking about the negative remarks the hospital is about three kilometres from the college, the food is just average, the place don't have any major attractions, lack of greenery.

You need NEET to get into medicine and colleges are based on your rank. I could have chosen thoothukudi but i went with kanyakumari mainly due to the environment of the college , weather . The campus overall looked more green and inviting. Admission is based on counselling , cpuld be tamil nadu counselling or all india counselling depending on from where you are . A day or two will have to be spent on admission where forms will have to be filled , physical checkups are done and certain agreements have to be signed....Read More

Admission is solely based on NEET scores as it is a government medical college. A state rank of around 900-1000 will get you a seat in this college. There are seats reserved for All India Quota and those seats are filled by a separate all India quota counseling. Really nice campus and educational set-up.

The admission to this medical college is based on your NEET score .When I joined this college the neet cut off was 595 marks for general category but now the cut off increased due to the easy neet exam pattern after the NTA took it over. You can get this college if your all India rank is under 9000. I joined this college using all India quata which is 15% of all the seats available. The thing I didn't like about the admission was that the all India quata students need to go to Chennai in order to verify their documents....Read More
