- The infrastructure and the availability of resources and materials in labs. They provide various facilities to the hostel students including 4 times meal, free gym , parlour, etc
- Behavior of staff and head of departments towards students is good and considerable . Anti ragging policies are also well implemented
Dislikes
- The attendance criteria is hard to maintain as some subjects classes are only once a week and if you skip those you'll need 3 weeks just to cover the leave of one day
- Sometimes the time table and datesheet are not suitable for day scholars like you may have 4 5 hours break all together and have no where to go .
Course Curriculum Overview :
The main reason I choose for forensics was crime investigation, criminology, evidence analysis, etc. The forensic subjects are quite good and are taught practically as well as theoretically. The practical experience allows us to be more practical and helps in further real life application. I personally believe that we need either real crime scene visits, lab visits or the simulation of the same for better understanding and more relatable real life application understanding of the course. The end semester exams are considered very smoothly nd at least a day is provided for each subject to prepare . This however, is not same for mid semester exams . We have given 3 exams in day and without any day off in between, it becomes tiring, confusing as well as hard to study all of these subjects in a single day time. Exams are not very hard , everything comes from the given syllabus .
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is no registration fees but there was a 1000 rupees fees for CUCET exam registration. The fees for our batch is 55500 tution fees per semester plus 2500 examination fees . 2000 security fees was also paid in the begining of the course. Every year tution fees is increased . There are various scholarships too CUCET scholarship - upto 100% based on ab online test arranged by the university Boards scholarship - upto 50% based on your class 12th percentage scholarship is granted for one year and to renew next year you need to fulfill 2 criterias 7.5+ overall CGPA 75% attendance
Campus Life :
Many fests and technical events are held in the university campus. Almost 2 - 3 fests are organized in every month. Cufest is held every year around April month . Other fests like Tashan nights , EDM nights , ect. are also organised. Books for every subject are provided in the block as well as central library . The classes are provided with a white board and a smart board . Presentations are used to teach the students. Charging points are provided in every seat almost . Seats are also comfortable. The labs are also provided with all equipments and chemicals . Activities such as dance , sports and everything is provided in the campus to students . Many student run groups and clubs are present in the university such as theatre groups, science clubs, etc .
Admission :
I chose this college because it was the best suitable one among all the options I had . I did apply to Delhi University too but there the courses available are less and forensics was not available. The other options I had were three universities of dehradun - Graphic era deemed University, Uttranchal University and Devbhoomi university. Not choosing these was a personal issue and also Chandigarh University is more reputed than these . I actually got into delhi university too but the issue is that it did not have forensics and I was more interested in forensics than in going to Delhi University. The admission process involves registration which is done in 5000 rupees that 5000 are adjusted in your tuition fees. Additionally if you want to give the CUCET exam you need to pay 1000 for that other wise there is no registration fees . Later you need to pay your entire fees before semester starting
Faculty :
1There are almost 30-40 faculties in forensics and around 100 to 140 students in each batch. Tina Sharma ma'am, Dr. Sahil Sharma sir (HOD, forensics) , Abhinav Sood sir and Sakshi Manhas ma'am are some of the teachers I interacted with so far and they are the best and most helpful teachers in our department. Mahipal sir , Tina ma'am, Abhinav sir are some of the most experienced and knowledgeable teachers in forensics. There are 2 mid semester exams in each semester and end semester exams at the end of each semester. Apart from these surprise tests, assignments and quizes are taken on regular basis which contribute to your overall CGPA . There are very less chances of students failing in exams. The ones who do not study at all are the ones with backlogs . The curriculum includes forensic subject along with basic chemistry, zoology, botany for biology background students and physics, chemistry, maths for maths background students. These subjects help in further life .
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Zoology)
Bsc forensics was more fascinating than zoology
