Remarks :

Located at a prime position in Durgapur easily reachable by Train, Bus and all transport means. The college has been working hard to ensure a rank in top 10 of the university all over India. As of now NIT durgapur ranks at 11 among all NITs and IITs.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Upto the mark. However it needs some serious revision. Some courses like AI and Machine learning shall be introduced. The examination are conducted in semester wise with no. Of subjects varying every semester although the totak credits remained at 220 every semester. We were alloted CGPA and SGPA

Placement Experience :

On campus Placement oppurtunities are plenty, however internships are limited to only the best of the batch. Rest of the students generally opt for an industrial training and call it an internship. The best internship and PPO are given by Amazon, DE shaw, Axis bank, Microsoft. However its still saddening to know that Flipkart still hasn't reached the institute of national importance.

College Events :

NIT durgapur is full of events and Fest. Some of them are Aarohan-tech fest, Recstacy- Cultural fest are the main attraction. Further we celebrate every festival in our hostels and these fests are totally supported by college administration.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Because it's a national institute the fee structure is decided by the govt itself. During my 2017 batch, the fee structure was 24000 per semester excluding the fooding and hostel charges which were only 2500 per month

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I haven't availed any loan or scholarship. However the scholarship are those offered by OP jindal and government scholarships. The college do offer scholarship to students not having good economic backgrounds.

Campus Life :

In first year people are mandated to have one sport which is used for grading students. Further people can during 2nd 3rd year focus on mastering those sports. Labs are there but they have been outdated. Electrical mechanical engineering lab are really old.

Hostel Facilities :

It has LAN port for every student. The rooms are generally occupied by 4 boys during 1st 2nd and 3rd year while the 4th year students recieve single rooms. Every room has cupboard , sockets , well ventilated rooms, fan tubelights. The hostels are equipped with water coolers and purifier. The bath rooms are well equipped with geysers.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni network is very helpful. Recently one of our alumni got to senior managerial position in Google and ITC. Further our colleges also organise alumni meet to ensure that students have a voice at every level.

Faculty :

The faculty is pretty cooperative. The teacher to student interaction is the one that makes college worth attending. I was directly in touch with my teachers and completed my project under them. The teachers are renowned and highly experienced and offers support at every step.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

From seventh semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are like TCS, Cognizant, infosys, mindtree and many others. The avg pkg is 6 lpa and highest is 12 lpa. 90 percent students gets placed.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
