  • Small campus: we share our playground with the adjacent college of hotel management.

Course Curriculum Overview :

As second BDS student, we are still dealing with amalgam filling and tooth restoration, which, as of now isn't really preferred. I would love to learn the newer methods. But this isn't the college's fault. That's the problem of MUHS curriculum. We were even stopped from crown prep because MUHS has declined it.

Internships Opportunities :

The college has a compulsory one year internship program after Final BDS. The program offers students to observe and clinically work on patients as a dentist. The college has excellent patient inflow, along with helpful staff and post graduate students.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I have availed the category reservation benefit, so I have to pay 1500 per year, as my fees. Normally, the fees for open category is in the range of 3.5 lakhs-4 lakhs per year. For the management quota, the fees are triple the fees of open category, with an additional donation fee at the first year admission. Students have to pay the university exam fees separately. Almost all of the scholarship benefits are available in the college.

Campus Life :

The college presents with multiple cultural activities, including a grand 5 day event, called Chiasma. Before the cultural week, we have a week of sport events. Our college presents with impeccable classrooms that have been digitalised recently. Hospital building has been renovated and given more spacious wards due to the excessive patient inflow.

Admission :

I was admitted in IISER Pune, because I had appeared for IAT as plan B. I voluntarily left that institute because I was more interested into getting a medical field, and BDS was what I voluntarily chose.

Faculty :

All the teaching staff is highly educated and experienced. All of them hold either a BDS, an MDS MBBS degree with multiple years of teaching experience. The teachers are really humble and always think in the best interest of the students. There is no biased opinion. Exams are conducted three times a year, with continuous internal assessment and evaluation. The 10 marks of internal assessment are counted from these three exams.

Other Applied Colleges

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research - [IISER] | Bachelor of Science [BS] + Master of Science [MS]

I was more interested into getting into a medical fieldAnd when the IISER counselling happened, the neet admission rounds

Course Curriculum Overview:

Dentistry has a wide scope in medical sector. In the internship period students are exposed to the real world patients which makes it possible for a good experience and to tackle future challenges. Dentistry on the other hand is quite expensive, the materials, instruments are expensive for a student who has weak financial background . Also in dentistry we have 19 subjects which have to be studied over 4 years, but 11 of them are divided in first three years and final year has 8 subjects which is difficult to get through so I would suggest to have a term wise pattern in final year exams rather than giving all 8 subjects at once. The difficulty level in exams for 1st 2nd and final year is moderately hard and 3rd year is easy

Placement Experience:

The medical and dental institutions across the nation do not follow the practice of campus placements. After graduating with a BDS degree, one can pursue MDS, MPH, MBA or MHA. courses. The majority of graduates work under experienced practitioners to gain work experience before starting their own clinic. The same can also be done by joining corporate dental chains. Some graduates apply for jobs as tutors and Junior Residents. Graduates also opt for short courses on implants and aesthetic dentistry to gain more hands-on experience. The opportunities are immense and the path chosen depends completely on individual preferences. I personally aim to pursue MDS in Oral Surgery after graduation.
