What Students Say
Likes
- the faculty is very supportive and they help you at every step
- the amenities are very good and good labs are installed
- there are projectors and smart boards in every class
Dislikes
- attendance criteria is very strict and penalties are heavy
- too many assignments to write and submissions
- the college fests are very less and there are no non tech events held by the college
Course Curriculum Overview
Personally, I feel the course designed by SPPU is a little outdated considering the current market trends and it should be more real world project based course with English as an important subject in the course. Because currently we need to opt for courses outside college for placement security.
Placement Experience
The campus placement drive is very robust however the placcements are still average. The average placement of Wadia college of engineering is 4LPA. The highest package bagged this year was 8LPA. Hence many steps should be taken to improve placements of the college with extra seminars, courses and asisstance for the 4th year students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees I paid in FE is 60 thousand. The general fees and spot round fees is 1 lakh 20 thousand but because OBC reservation my fees reduces 60 thousand. There are additional scholarships to girls, so this academic year my fees got reduced to 19 thousand. There is also castewise fees relief.
Campus Life
The college mainly takes part in 1 main event that happens annually during January-February. It is called Jhankaar and it is a 7 day fest where various cultural activities takes place. However, it would be better if there were other non tech events that were open to all and other festivals were celebrated
Admission
Wadia college of engineering is very reputed engineering college in Pune, with decent placements and good faculty. The learning environment is also very good. I had applied to other colleges like COEP, AISSMS and DY patil but couldn't get in because the cut off was high.
Faculty
The faculty is very dedicated and qualified. They teach very nicely and exam assistance is provided itself in class. Unit tests and term work assessment is done regularly in class. The practicals are taken very seriously and hand out submissions are done on time. Overall good learning environment.
Other Applied Colleges
College of Engineering - [COEP] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Information Technology)
cut off was higher than my marks
