- Class timings are too long that's from 8:50 am to 4:00pm.
Course Curriculum Overview
We must update ourselves with the current development of technologies since the curriculum only focuses on providing us with the basics which are becoming less relevant due to the very high competition in the field. Each semesters end very fast and at the end things becomes very hectic and Semester breaks are too short whereas we get a year break of one month in which we should do our internships and all. I think this time duration is very short.
Internships Opportunities
Firstly they tell us to search for internships and if we didn't get any the college provides us with internship which are recommend to do during year breaks. Its mandatory to do internships every year. Also at the end of each Semester we are required to do a course project for each subjects by using the basics we learned.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from Semester 6 onwards. All the major companies like TCS and Infosys come for placements. Students get atleast an average of 2 offers. Highest package is about 10-12 lakh and lowest is about 2 lakh. Mostly about 30 percentage of the students gets placed and others go for higher studies. I am planning to get masters after finishing this degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure varies with the category and for management its about 1k and for merit category it is 91k and based on our entrance exam rank and 12th marks they will provide us scholarships. JEE and KEAM are the entrance exams which are accepted.I got admission under merit quota along with scholarship so my fee is about 75k in first year which includes caution deposit of 9k and and other fees. From second year onwards I pay 60k which is excluding hostel fees. Again there will be scholarships based on our cgpa and our scholarships will dropped if any arrear occurs.
Campus Life
Annual cultural fest is BRAHMA which is a national event held for 3 days. There are different professional bodies like IEEE , ASME ,IEDC etc and they conduct various workshops throughout the year. Each department have a library along with a main library with e-books also. There are many opportunities for placements and internships and the teachers will help us with that. Every year arts and sports are also held. Technical fest ASHWAMEDHA is also held alternate years also each department conducts fest every year.
Hostel Facilities
A room can accommodate 3 - 4 students which are spacious with common bathrooms. We can choose between AC and Non-AC and hostel fees vary according to that. Mess is completely vegeterian but we can order Non-veg foods. Going out is limited to once or twice a month with limited time which everyone thinks is very strict . The bathrooms are very clean. Water filters ae there in every floor.
Admission
I've heard that our college provide better placements compared to other colleges and the campus life is almost good so I choose this college. Mostly students prefer KEAM exam to get admission and cutoff is about 20k. Admission counselling is held at the beginning so they provide us with the detailed explanation of the curriculum as well as the fee structure and about the campus.
Faculty
Most faculties at our college are approachable and are friendly while some are not. I think my department has got the best faculties and are bit relaxed unlike other departments. For us there are 2 internal exams out of 50 before the End semester exam and based on that they calculate our internal marks along with the assignment and projects submitted. Students mostly fail for Engineering Mechanics and Graphics. I think that the course curriculum should be more updated based on the technologies and other developments happening.
