Course Curriculum Overview

2

I choosed this course coz I really liked the business field, and always dreamt of working in a company as an employee. I choosed marketing coz I love marketing field due to its salary and working environment. I have been growing watching many videos and contents relating to business so this motivated me It helps to motivate you and make u more confident this helps u in making real world applications or further academic pursuits better and easier. If I talk about the areas of improvement, they could reduce the marks to get passed as it's really hard to earn marks higher than half of total so proper consideration should be given on that, and teachers can use ai or other technologies for teaching, this makes learning more interesting and easier The frequency and timing of exams can be increased as it provides really less time and expects more content. They should provide the students with more time to write exams as the questions are sometimes really tricky or confusimg and all questions require big and long answers. So they could lengthen the time. The questions are not that tough but the limited time with expectations of more content makes it difficult.

Internships Opportunities

4

The companies who offered internship for the students in our college are mainly from CYBERPARK,Hilite company (Relating to hilite mall) etc I named these because most of the students went here as it was not that far from the college other places were more far. These companies made them work really hard , they were working under a manager, like assistant manager and they were supposed to follow and perform tasks as the manager says. The students were also expected to prepare projects on some topics as per the choice which should include some issues or problems, were a solution can be found through proper research.

Placement Experience

4

Our college provides placements opportunities for students at 3 rd sem inbetween, 4th sem and 5th sem also , at third sem the companies who come for placements are less as compared to 5th sem. At 5th sem most of the students are placed. The companies who visited our college for placements are Global, Birla, cyberpark, meithra and much more. There are many numbers of offers provided Highest package offered is 55000 per month and lowest is 20000 per month average is 30000 Most of the students are placed, 80% My degree is already done , so after doing mba by plans are to work and gain experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

Each sem we have to pay 125000 , there are 4 sems , so total 500000. So a year we have to pay 250000 for the course. All the tution fees, development fees, lab fees etc are included in the total sum ie 500000, exam fee are also included in it. We have different specialisation such as marketing, finance and hr , all specialisation has same fees, other batch mates also same amount. Our college provides scholarships for students who gained above 80% in degree they will get 2 sem free without paying any amount.

Campus Life

5

The annual and technical festivals include Arts day which is on Month November, Canvas on month November/December, EID,Onam on September,Xmas on December,Ethnic day, Sports day, Hostel fest, Food fest etc The library offers a wide range of books and journals along with a well maintained and structure library. Every books relating to business, economic, finance, journals , inspirational people etc can be provided in the library. The class room offers different technological provisions and facilities such as ACs, Fan, lights , tubes, projector, cctv, white board, black board, marker, chalk, Mic, tables, chairs etc The college offers sports and many extra curricular activities in the college, they provide all with gym , seperate gym for males and females in the hostel, different competitions relating to sports and arts. All the extracurricular activities performed are a success and maximum participation is present. There are different clubs for the training and development of students, the clubs include Finance Club, Entrepreneur Club, Marketing club, HR club etc .There are different committees for managing the programs in the college, such as food committee, treasury, stall committee, finance committee, cleaning committee, discipline committee etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is really good the rooms provided are clean and looks like an apartment, and only two members are allotted in a room is we get proper privacy. The room is cleaned everyday by the maid and had 4 led lights one fan and a wide window. The room is pretty big too with two beds , two table and chair, and 2 Almarah and clean toilet The meal includes a schedule and a specific food is allotted on tht specific day. Like every Tuesday we get breakfast fast as Dosa Sambar Chutney Black tea and milk tea, lunch we get chicken biryani salad, fruits, achar , evening snacks we get cutlet, tea, lime, and dinner we get rice, sambar, fried fish , achar. Likewise a different time table is set for each day. The meals quality depends on the food type , like biryani is really but but whenever they make curry it's really watery and tastes bland due to high water. Menu is not that nice as it has fish and vegitables , we don't like fish and vegetables as the curry they use with it is so watery and bland. No such thing as registration for hostel it's all included in the college fees, so it's a easy process, affordability is not that good as they charge 500000 for everything (study, accommodation, food) the cost for teaching is affordable but the sum they charge for other things which is added in 500000 is quite high.

Admission

I applied in Jain University in Bangalore, their application forms had certain error and I faced many problems while submitting the information for application, and they do interview before admission of students which was at Bangalore itself, which made it more difficult , i was filling the form and they was demanding for the interview in the same weeks which is difficult as both places are really far , they could have use online interview instead. So due to these issues i stopped applying to Jain and went for FIMS at Calicut which is also one of the best b schools in Calicut I choosed FIMS because it's one of the best B schools in Calicut and my cousin also studied there and I asked many people about this college and everyone has good opinions only. I also did a little research on this college and got good feedbacks.Fims also provides placements for their students and specialisations such as marketing, hr and finance and a very good infrastructure and well known college. So i choosed this college And no i didn't get any rejection from any colleges as I only applied for 2 colleges and stopped applying on Jain inbetween due to the problems i mentioned above The admission process in my college include certain steps such as first you have to inform the admission faculties by calling them or messaging them (it's available online in FIMS page) and then they will add you to a group, were all students are provided guidance relating to the texts process of admission. Then all students were informed about a GD in the group, which will be conducted online. After conducting the GD , the passed students and then goes to the second step which is interview which is also conducted online and after that the students who are selected will receive a e mail informing them about their selection and they are asked to pay the fees to book the seat in the college. The students must pass KMAT or CMAT exam in order to choose this course. Overall admission experience was great.

Faculty

3

Faculty is less and many people who are coming to teach are guests , as many faculties resigned due to better opportunities. The student teacher ratio can be 10:120 (juniors/seniors and not total) The faculties are really approachable and professional they would help you with anything from the beginning to end I really liked faculties such as professor Shiyas sir , professor Shabad Sir , Professor Shyama Ma'am and Professor Vinu sir , all of them are great and really good teachers. Vinu sir is not that perfect as others but yeah he's still good. I like these teachers because they are really motivating and loving and helped us a lot in our academics, they are really kind too. The names of the faculties i didn't like is Leena Ma'am and Joseph Sir , Joseph sir is not that unlikeable as Leena tho , Sir was lil serious and boring, he could be improved if he was lil more patient. Leena Ma'am was really de motivational she scared us into thinking we all will fail and it's really tough to pass on the exams , she's cunning. She made us loose all the hope tbh but thankfully many of us still passed the exam and realised she was lying to us. There is one internal exam which is for internal marks and then model exam and then university exam for each semester. So for this course we have 4 internal exam , 4 model exam and 4 main / University exam . We also have a project exam ( research/project) They exams can be tough sometimes or easy, it depends on the semester . Some semester it will be easy and other it will be tough. Depending on my overall experience the exams are neither tough nor easy, it's not bad. Many students fail in the exams , out of 60, 15 students are most likely to be failed.

Placement are not the best. But EY , federal bank, TCS are some the prominent companies that are coming. The negative thing about placement is most of them are offering marking jobs. So if you are someone who is interested in operations this is not the collage you want to in.
