The faculty is amazing. The academics are taken seriously and coursework is taught through presentations in class.
The laboratories are in great working condition which helps bring practical knowledge to us. The course is a practical oriented course which helps in bringing great applicable knowledge with practical classes being held daily.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course offers great relevance to the practical based knowledge which is applicable in real life. The coursework is really comprehensive and easy to understand covering all the main topics relevant to your future career. This course offers three main subjects that are microbiology, food technology and general chemistry with minor subjects being Punjabi/ HCP in first year and English in second year. Third year is totally based on research.

Class Size : 70Course Fees : INR 54000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Internship is an important aspect in our coursework during the summer vacations. It helps offer an experience in the work offered after this course and helps build connections. Students opt for various industries and laboratories to do their internship.

Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College Chandigarh is an amazing collage, with great faculty, great labs and various opportunities that help shape our future. Microbial and Food Technology course is a unique course offered by this college only which bridges various career opportunities like in corporate sector, government jobs, private work etc. Also the course is affordable in relation to the opportunities provided with mandatory internship in summer vacations which helps provide an experience in the corporate sector already. The campus life is also good with many extracurricular activities held and fests to enjoy with your friends.

Campus Life :

The club offers various clubs like music, dance, NSS, NCC and much more. The extracurricular activities held are great for personal and professional development. Overall the campus life is good with various events and fests organised.

Admission :

The admission process in this college was very smooth with complete guidance and support. The academics value and college experience was better in this college than every other college I applied to. Overall a great experience.

Faculty :

The faculty is amazing with great knowledge and teach the subjects with finesse. The course structure is great with practical classes everyday, subjects divided among the week equally to understand and learn all the topics with ease. Also, doubt sessions are kept regularly to clear any.

Why you should join Chandigarh University instead of Amity University.

Placement Experience:

During 5th semester you become eligible for campus placement drives, there are several companies that visits chandigarh university campus and you can fill forms for that on the basis of eligibility criteria they have and can appear for their drive that have steps such as test, GD, Personal interview. The average package in campus placements is 5 lakh Rs per annum. Highest package in Biotechnology department is around 12 lakh Rs per annum. Very few students opt for placement after graduation as most of the students plan to puruse a masters degree after that and several others were preparing for government exams. My plan after this degree is to pursue an Msc in biotechnology itself.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our course not only focuses on theoretical knowledge but on skill development also. Labs are scheduled daily. It's compulsory for each and every student to do atleast one month internship after 1st and 2nd year so that we get industry exposure, these internship are part of our syllabus. Then we have to do research in our 3rd year.so its great we get alot of exposure and by the time we get pass out from college we built a great CV.
