- The faculty of the college is very supportive and experienced. They keep consulting you on various aspects rather than just focusing on studies.
- There is so much greenery in the college and the infrastructure of the college also gives DU vibes. Also it is bigger as compared to other colleges of IPU.
Dislikes
- The condition of classrooms is very poor. There is no AC in the most of the classrooms and even if it is there, it does not work.
- There is only one canteen in the college and also it is in a very bad condition. There is no seating arrangement and also the kitchen of the canteen is very unhygienic.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum of BBA is pretty good. It not only focuses on study and exams, but also the seminars, alumni lectures and industrial visits keep going on throughout the semester. Also you have to give individual and group presentations which prepares you for the corporate world. The exams are also not that difficult, you can easily score more than 80% with just studying during the exams.
Placement Experience :
The main reason I got admission in MSI was of the placements. I think it was overhyped but yeah the college provides pretty decent placements but you have to work hard on your skills to secure a good package. Companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Reliance etc. visit the college. In my course BBA, the average package was 4.5 LPA and the highest package was 7.5 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for BBA programme is Rs. 137000 for the first year ( including admission fees). After that, it is around Rs. 120000 annually. I don't have idea of fees for category students but you can check it at College website.
Campus Life :
The college life in MSI is decent. There are various societies and clubs which you can join and socialize with others. The campus is not very much big, there is a sports ground in which various sports like cricket, football, volleyball etc. can be played. There is also a badminton court in the campus. But you have to get your own sports equipment, none of them were provided by the college. Also, rarely any sports tournaments or competitions are held in the college. There is a central library and a book bank in the college which provides you a wide range and great accessibility to a number of books.
Admission :
I wanted to get admission in DU or IPU from the starting. My first preference was DU but I didn't get admission in North or south campus so then I started focusing on getting admission in a good college of IPU. Maharaja Surajmal Institute is among the best colleges in Delhi for BBA so I opted for it. There is a seperate IPU entrance exam for its colleges so I scored good in that exam and I got admission in it after the spot round. Also if you are from Delhi there are more chances of getting admission in your preferred college of IPU as compared to rest of the students from outside Delhi. As I was from other city so I have to wait for 4 rounds of counselling, then I got admission in this college. The cutoff for MSI this year was around something 2000. You can also try for evening shift if you can't get admission in morning shift.
Faculty :
The faculty of the college is very experienced and supportive. Some teachers are strict but they will also support you if you would make good relations with them. There are two exams in each semester, internals and externals. The marking system in entire IPU is very lineant. You can score score more than 80% easily with studying only during the exams.
