My experience with Delhi University

Dislikes

  • I think the old faculty is very good but the new recruited faculty has great knowledge no doubt but they are not good as much in explaining things (only some)
  • I think the repair of the old building and area outside the college is required which was not happening for long time

Course Curriculum Overview :

I think my course was very best for those who have not decided their future plans. They want to explore more field of science not restricted to a particular field (as like me). It includes biochemistry, botany, zoology and physics chemistrynot (not so much). So it gives you number of opportunity to persued different field as your career in future.

Internships Opportunities :

I think the faculty was very good enough to allow you to have internship from outside too and have some different and useful experience. But college has its own internship program during summer vacations and they also give certificate in the end for future .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As per my perspective, it is quite well and affordable. As the fees is not that much. It is nearly 20000 per year including tuition fees caution fees lab fees and other things. And about scholarship it is there in Delhi University only for those who have scored certain marks in previous exams.

Campus Life :

I think the college has so many other activities and things to explore for a person who is not so much introvert like me . College has well established library for support in academics as it contains number of books from so many different areas.

Admission :

In my time admission done on basis of plus2 score. I have applied only in du colleges and I want done my graduation near my home. I want course which includes broad areas of biology. So I choose Biological science which was only available in du in Sri Venkateswara college.

Faculty :

I am in biological science department which have no specific faculty of it. Faculty from other department used to teach us. For me it's a thing good as we get chance to interact with some more teachers and get opportunity to get their respective experience and knowledge. But I think some of biochemistry faculty need to be improved some of the teachers have great ego and arrogance which I think should not there if your are a teacher. Otherwise most of the faculty was very good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it is one such course that can never bore you. I have interest in analytical solving and problem solving. The curriculum is much more theory based and doesn't prepare the students much for real world or corporate world applications

Placement Experience:

After completing the IV Semester, students become eligible to participate in Campus Placements. Companies like Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, and DeShaw visit campus every year and recruit students. The highest package offered for the Batch of 2023 is 21 LPA, and the Overall Average Package is around 4-5 LPA. But No. of Placements is less due to some factors, such as Companies being fewer the number of visits here, also the Majority of Students opt for a master's. CGPA should be more than 8, to sit in Placements. My Plan is to do a master's if I can't get the placements then Polish my skills to get a job in a reputed company in IT.

Remarks:

Overall experience of college is good. It is peaceful and environment is really great. As it is a science college, students are generally more serious. Infrastructure is good.

Entrance Preview:

I got admission in this college by cut off list that University of Delhi releases. I got 85.6% in 12th by which i managed to pass the cut off marks. I opt for this college after I heard about it by some of my elders that the science faculty of this collage is really very good.

Admission:

After i saw the cut off list and observed that I am eligible to take admission in this college, I went to the college. Filled up the admission form and submitted to Jain sir after which my documents were verified and then i submitted my fees and that's how I got admitted in this college.
