Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is well established and contains subject matters which are in par with current affairs and cover topics which have an impact on the current political and literary scenario. Exams are generally held in a gap of 4 to 5 months which gives well enough time to study and prepare

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Average fees per semester was 5000 rupees for 4 semesters. During Admission there was a payment done for 8000 rupees which included the tuition and the other compulsory charges. Odd semesters were higher in fees compared to the even semesters.

Campus Life :

The Campus is an open and social place where the small space means most people would know each other and are in friendly terms with everyone. Generally, seminars and campus fests are held by the student union and an annual event might also be held which would be mini sports consisting of football and badminton tournaments. The campus has mainly two Student unions, SFI and KSU

Admission :

I had applied and gained admission at Amrita campus at Kochi but I rebuked my admission there and took admission at Dr Janaki Ammal campus, Palayad, Thalassery under Kannur University because it was more closer to my hometown and budget friendly in terms of stay and fees structure. The admission process is based on a written test and it was comparatively easy for me as I was confident enough to guarantee my admission even before I was called by the office to confirm it.

Faculty :

The Faculty to Student ratio for an average batch would be 5 : 1. The faculty that I liked would be Dr Sajan Nalpady and Dr Sony Augustine. I did not dislike anyone specifically. The exams are very easy and can be written in a relaxed manner. The marks of the written exams are out of 60 and the internals out of 40 whereas other colleges have written tests for 80 marks and internals for 20 marks. The course curriculum is also different and advanced compared to others and includes various relevant subjects. Generally all students pass the exams

Placement Experience:

From the second last semester of UG and PG students can attend campus placement calls and interviews, there is a separate club for placements that will make students able to attend the placement calls, the club will help them to achieve their dream through campus placement. So many companies like Wipro, Amazon, Flipkart, federal banks, syndicate banks, etc.. hire students through campus placement. The percentage of campus placement is increasing per year average placement is more than 70%. The average package is more than 10k per month, the maximum package is 1 lakh per month. After getting a degree students can choose either placement or higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because after gaining a master's in economics, I could be well equipped and eligible to prepare for and attend those tests and jobs I prefer. The college provides well-qualified faculties. There are enough lecturers and guest lecturers in every department. Most of them have doctorates and other high degrees. Some have even written some academic publications. Many of them have had years of teaching experience and they share a good bond with the students too. Different teachers have different methods of teaching and almost everyone considers the needs of the students and is even willing to bring about changes in their style. Course Curriculum is prepared according to the University of Kerala and UGC norms. As the college is having an autonomous status, the exams are conducted by the college itself following the university rules and regulations. Exams, both internal and semester are conducted regularly without fail and results to are published within a short span.

Remarks:

I chose a liberal arts college like Farook College because I wanted smaller class sizes and the chance to establish close relationships with other students and my professors. I thrive in a collaborative environment, and I relished the opportunity to engage with other students and work together to complete projects. Following listed are the things I liked most about the college: 1. Independence- One of the main things I liked about this college is independence. This college made me independent to take major decisions in my life. A media student should always be independent and critical in one's own decision making no matter whether the outcome is good or bad which is one of the major things I gained from this college. 2. Academia- Academia is another important factor that attracted me to this college. The college provides good academia with greater facilities of library with digital library that enables e-learning as well. The college provides ample atmosphere for research purposes as well.
