- I like the placement statistics of the college which attracts various students , which is very good even for core branches.
- The college life is not that happening lest you find good friends with whom you can hangout and enjoy.
Dislikes
- No night life in the college, and lack of canteens and good food options.
- The college is an open campus so people from outside too roam around the college which is quite unsafe for some people
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum in the first year is common for all branches which is very unnecessary as people from all branches have to study courses from other different branches which is not required. Though the curriculum after 1st year is branch specific and makes the students quite industry ready I feel that the college should completely follow NEP 2023 rule and update the curriculum so that students dont have to study courses from other branch. The exams are conducted very frequently and timely and the difficulty level remains from Medium-Hard.
Internships Opportunities :
The companies like Accenture, Zerodha, Grow , Deloitte offer internships in the college with a stipend of around 40-50k pm to each student which varies from company to company for roles like Junior SDE and Jr. Web Developer. The projects depends on the company and the role offered in the internship
Placement Experience :
The placements of the college is the most attractive part , and for core branches it is more than 90% too. The students from 5th semester become eligible to sit in internships and from 7th semester onwards they can sit for campus placements Companies like Accenture, Deloitte visit the campus and number of offers remains more than 500+ Highest package is 82 lpa and the average is 12.63 lakhs The percentage of students placed is more than 90% I plan to sit for campus placements after degree completion
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure includes tuition fees which is Rs 125000 per year which includes 2 semesters. For people with family come below Rs 5 lakh there is 2/3rd fee rebate in the total tution fees and for people below Rs 1 lakh family income and SC/ST students it is nil tuition fees. Caution fees is Rs 10 thousand and one time admission fees is Rs 32000, while registration fees , lab and development fees covers to around Rs 1000 for each semester respectively. My batchmates pay fees according to the income slab and category they belong while i pay the full amount without any fee remission. Scholarships such as PM modi yashasvi yojana, FFE, E-Kalyan are available for students.
Campus Life :
The annual cultural fests are OJASS and CULFEST which are in the months of November and February The library is a central library with tons of books. journals and magazines available with the facility of E-books also available. The classrooms are very well equipped digitally with proper sound-mic system and a digital board The sports and extra curricular of the college is very prime but there is no swimming pool in the college. There are various student run clubs like Invicta, PHOCUS, Faces, LDS, SSC , etc which are very interactive
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facility is quite basic with a double sharing room in the first year, but from the second year onwards it is single sharing which it quite good. A Chair, Table and cupboard is provided to each student. The mess is quite good with both Veg/Non Veg options available to the students. The registration process is very easy and is on the same day of physical reporting to the college and the affordability is 18 thousand per semester.
Admission :
I chose this college due to the proximity from my home town and because of very good and superb placements. I had applied to other NITs like NIT Allahabad, Jaipur, Rourkela but because i wasn't getting CSE branch there i chose NIT Jamshedpur. I got a rejection from IIIT Bangalore because of the high cut off ranks which went this year. The admission process of my college is through JEE Mains exam and the courses depend on the cut off ranks, like the cut off for CSE branch here is 99 % ile , the admisison process goes through a period of 2-3 months taking part in counselling like JOSAA/CSAB
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio is not too good and 1:20 which is quite bad, and apart from some faculties , most of them don't engage with students much after classrooms, though they are quite approachable I liked the professors from cse department and dislike the faculties from chemistry department. There are 2 semester exams which includes 2 mid sem and 2 end sems with class tests and assignments in between.
