Best from outside but hurting from inside

Remarks :

The college will never allow raising your voice against it if it is for a good purpose also. There are many times where our college has suppressed many types of news that may have made a bad reputation for it.

Entrance Exam

Course Curriculum Overview :

Teachers are very bad not all but almost. You have to work hard and get it all through 4 years of your study. Exams are held in three rounds- CAT1-closed book then CAT2-open notebook type test where you can go with your handwritten notes and at last is FAT. All this continues every semester and only after 7 pm, you will get time for self-study. It's like working for an MNC. Your marks are not standalone, it is compared with the average of your class which will decide your final grade at the end of the semester.

Placement Experience :

The best thing about my college is placements. We have an average placement of 5.4 lakhs. MNCs coming to our campuses offer a great package to scoring students and in the case of CSE and IT students, I can bet you if you know a little bit of programming also your placement is 100% guaranteed.

College Events :

Gravitas- It is a technological event held every year in the month of October. Rivera- Annual fest of our college which held in February every year. It is one of the top 10 college fests in India and we a committee of students and faculty who organize this event.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

If you come under 20000 rank, you can study here at low cost but there are 5 category of seats and annual fees which depends on scoring rank. Each category has fees more than the previous one. The 1st category is best and is very less for a student but 3,4,5 are too costly but you can get a seat in our college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes, VIT provides scholarships to students of Tamil Nadu who have topped in their district, they can avail of any course and VIT provides all accommodation charges and gives laptop too. If your family's annual income is less than 2 lakhs then you can apply for the scholarship and they can waive some part of your fees.

Campus Life :

Sports are held every semester to ensure fitness and healthy life. Football, Cricket, Baseball, Tennis, Squash, and many other games are also available to play inside the campus. Every practical subject has a lab class once a week for students to perform experiments.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes, I have opted for Hostel and it is one of the finest hostels in colleges all over India. An outdoor stadium and swimming pool BUT AC gyms and swimming pool is not free, you have to pay for it per semester. Only the playground and non-AC gym is free here.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, Most of them have told me to focus on programming and be good and don't indulge yourself in any wrongdoing. The administration is very strict here and if you caught you can be debarred for the whole semester or ever rusticated.

Faculty :

The faculties are not so good. Some of them are coming to teach themselves and they don't look after the progress of their students. Materials provided by the faculties are good and enough to score good marks in tests and you don't need to buy any books. Faculties keep you updated all-time with the current opportunities but it is you who need to work hard.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
