- No or rare trips outside Chandigarh and nearby area.
- Unhelpful nature of rikshaw drivers for students and asking them to use paid rikshaw even when desparately in need
Course Curriculum Overview :
Fine Arts course is pretty relevant as it prepares us for all the creative aspects that may come out way. This course is not just about painting as it sounds but is lot more. It consists of all the creative aspects one may come across in life and prepares you for every opportunity.
Internships Opportunities :
The coure I have doesn't give much of an internship and placement bu overall great companies come to hire students with great packages and average packages depending on the score of the student in placement exams.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee for 2022 batch is 90K excluding the examination fee which is 2000 per semester which makes it 94K per year. Scholarship is provided to students based on the results of the exam conducted by the University which is named as 'CUCET'. The minimum scholarship is 15%. Other financial aids that are available are for the students of Punjab where their degree is almost free of cost.
Campus Life :
The social life at this college is pretty lively. Students engage in activities themselves and also there are clubs for different activities including various dance clubs, singing club, fine arts club and even anchoring and fashion club. Various festivals are celebrated within the campus itself at different spots including the fountain and D1 auditorium. Also multiple famous actors and singers visit the university at various times of the year. The sports have their own significance with it own provided Sports Complex and support to grow further.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are better to live because they are in campus and better to go to college from hostels with a small walk rather than the daily hustle. Meals are provided four times a day including the Breakfast, Lunch, Evening snacks and Dinner. The quality is okay(not so good, not so bad) , but definitely better than other colleges. The hostels in itself organize hostel leagues and various other competitions like poster making competitions etc to make the Students participate in all that they are good at, polish it and go further.
Admission :
The colleges I applied to are Artemisia college of art and design, Indore and Art college, Dehli University. I got admitted in Indore but Chandigarh University is closer to my home town. As far as rejection is concerned, I didn't get one but the exams for eligibility criteria for DU were late during that year so didn't take the risk of losing a year. For admission I gave the exam of cucet and got a scholarship of 15%, my seat was only reserved when I filled 10K in advance. Other exams which were accepted were 70%+ marks in 12th standard
Faculty :
The faculty for fine arts is amazing. They are helpful and loving. They help you when you struggle. As per exams, there are 3 exams during one semester ndmely MST-1, MST-2 and End Semester which are appropriate considering the course
