Course Curriculum Overview :

Show me the curriculum was pretty good, it did not cover all the clinical aspect. I would definitely say that, but overall it was moderate level of education. It helped me to make my basics much more stronger, and this helped me in preparing for my future exams. The class is generally of 50 to 45 minutes. we also have practical classes of one hour twice a week. The classes generally starts from 9:30 AMand can continue till 3 PM.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yearly fee of Panjab University - 1) year 2022 - Rs 12025 ( 9670 + tuition fee 2355) 2) year 2023 - Rs 12655 ( 10300 + tuition fee 2355) Total fee = Rs 24680 There are scholarships for SC/OBC, kindly refer to the Panjan University official site you will find scholarships for students around 10-12. Such as PUAA ( not for psychology students) , post metric scholarship schemes for minority, post-matric scholarship schemes for SC students, most matric scholarship scheme for student with disability, Ishan Uday scheme for north-eastern region, PG Indira Gandhi scholarship for single girl child, etc.

Campus Life :

There are many festivals activities, fairs that goes around in the college every year, and I would say every one to two months. Many singers, and many Punjabi actors may show up to promote their new movies and songs. The social aspect of the University is pretty great. The food is great. The areas are great. The campus is really beautiful to be around. the journal everything is extremely available in the library, which is open 24/7 for the students of Punjabi University. There are different types of fests conducted by various departments of Punjabi University, such as law department, chemistry department, IT department, geography department.

Admission :

There are some other colleges, such as DAV College and MCM College in Chandigarh that also provide a Masters in psychology. I only fill the form for Punjab University because it's the most recognised one and offers more exposure and is more respected than the other colleges for Masters in psychology. To be accepted in Punjab University, you need to have good merit in your bachelors with psychology honours. There is no particular exam that is conducted by the university. The selected candidates are based on the number of seats and the merit marks of the student that they got in their bachelors. For me, the overall admission experience was moderate as you have to sometimes submit your certain documents in the college when the whole admission process is going on and that can take some time.

Faculty :

we had approximately 65 students in our class, and we have many subjects, especially in the second year of Masters in psychology. In the first year, you have to study specific subjects such as cognitive psychology, social psychology, research and stats is a compulsory subject that you have to study in the first year and in the second year and we do have different professors, assistant, professors, PhD scholars. There are three professors to assistant professors, and 4 PhD scholars who taught us. In the second year, you have to choose three main courses that you want to specialise. In. For example, you have many choices like clinical, counselling, child, psychology, behavioural economics, health, psychology, media, psychology, positive psychology, et cetera. so based on your particular force, you will be assigned a particular professor. In second year, research and statistics is a compulsory subject. For me, personally, exams were easy to moderate. Mostly 80% students pass the exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The best thing about this curriculum is that it is non very burdensome for us and easy to navigate through. It is well divided into multiple units making it easier to navigate through. For example - there is this course of key concepts in the very first semester which lays foundation for upcoming all semesters. Similarly in the first semester, we are taught Constitution of India laying the basics very clear . I personally choosed this course due to my interest and it's application in almost every competition exam out there. There can be a little bit improvement regarding the introduction of research methodology courses. Since there are no courses yet, it often cause a problem for students who want to pursue PhD in future. The frequency of exams is fine enough as there is a lot of time for us to adjust in the new semester and enjoy all the curricular and co curricular activities without a constant load of examinations all the time. This is the best thing I find.
