  • The infrastructure is not of much great deal here.
  • Rooms of the girls hostel are small and 3 girls should occupy a room at first year which was difficult for me.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The main reason for which I chose this course was because I wanted to become a teacher and no other college in the south had triple major along with integrated B.Ed for 4 years. The curriculum is pakka and relevant for my future.

Internships Opportunities :

The institute lets us go to internship to JNV schools which is a very reputable school. The students are divided into groups of 5 or 6 and each group is sent to different JNV for 50 days for internship in the final year.

Placement Experience :

4th year students, 6th year students and final year B.Ed and M.Ed students are eligible for campus placements. Several schools come for the placement interview and as far as I have heard the average package is Rs. 40000/- almost every student gets placed. I plan to study MSc after getting this degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yearly I pay Rs. 12227/- and as far as the hostel fee is concerned it is Rs. 13000/- per semester. Scholarship is provided for students whose parents have low income which is 4000 per semester. Sc and ST categories need to pay 7227 per year not 12227.

Campus Life :

The college celebrates Pongal, Onam, battukoma, kannada rajyotsava, navratri, Diwali and ugadi as it is a regional institute. The library is immense with almost every book needed for the education purpose. Students are well participated in sports and co curricular activities more than academics and there is a scope for it too. Various clubs are also present such as dance club, photography club, etc.

Hostel Facilities :

I stay in the hostel provided by the institute. As far as most of the residents concerned, the hostel food is not at all adequate for the growth of them. The quality is not good and need to be improvised. After many complaints too there is no improvement.

Admission :

I didn't apply to any other college apart from this. The admission process are: you need to clear RIE CEE examination and they would choose only around 10 people from each state for each course. Waiting lists are also there through which someore students join the college. Cut off changes each year.

Faculty :

Normally the faculty to student ratio is 1:50, but when there is a combined class then it'll be around 1:100 which is difficult. The faculties are very approachable and the faculty whom I liked the most was our chemistry ma'am, Muneera Begum who is very dedicated. I don't dislike any of the faculties. There are a total of 3 exams per subject, C1, C2 and C3. C3 is the final semester exam. C1 and C2 are internals. Internals paper are set by the faculties themselves, whereas semester paper comes from the university. Apart from this there are practical exams as well.

Placement Experience:

In mc college the placement facilities are quite low and only few companies will appear for placement. The final year students are eligible for campus placements. And my plan after getting degree is joining for M.Sc chemistry of two years course in Bangalore city University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our curriculum includes syllabus in regard to that of National Education Policy scheme where in we have 2 core subjects. I chose biotechnology and genetics since it something I really look forward to pursue as my career in the field. We had one subject as open elective which enhanced our curriculum since we could choose from various course every semester. The university exams however were conducted for 60marks as theory and 2.5 hours for the same which can be extended to 3 hours

Placement Experience:

There is a mandatory internship for students during the summer break after their 1st year of MSc. BASE Placement Cell (BPC) is responsible to look after the placement and internship opportunities for the students. However, the students need to opt-in for their service or they can handle it on their own. The first batch will graduate in the year 2022 and hence there is no placement record for the same.

Remarks:

It has been a great experience studying at Christ. I have had both positive and negative influences. But the most important thing I gained from Christ is a critical perspective of my own. Whatever its demerits, I thank the college and the faculty for helping me grow into the person that I am now. The lessons I have gained from the campus and the memories it has given me will stay with me forever. It is indeed one of the top educational institutions of India, if you know how to utilize all the great facilities it offers. What I found is, if you are really interested in becoming someone, you can always choose Christ University, It'll give you a push in the right path. It all depends on how you make use of the opportunities before you. Either way, Christ is open to you. It welcomes you into its beautiful campus without any presumptuous notions on where you're from or who you were. Hence, it is a great place for me to make lifelong friendships. like I have.
