Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Christ for its curriculum because they were one of the few colleges that offered science related subjects under this degree (Bachelors of Science (Hons) Psychology). These subjects include Psychology, Bio-chemistry, Statistics and Artificial Intelligence. Many ability enhancing, skill enhancing, multidisciplinary, and value added courses are offered as well. The curriculum could improve in terms of structure and taking into account suggestions.
Internships Opportunities :
Although Christ offers internship opportunities as well as job placements, I am yet to look into the details of them. The only internship I have done so far was at an organisation introduced to me by Christ through a certificate course.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees I pay as an Indian student for BSc Psychology (Hons) is 1.2 lakhs per annum. The fees increase slightly for NRIs and foreign students. There are no tuition fees or additional charges. Numerous scholarships are available.
Campus Life :
There are numerous annual festive events, including Darpan, Anahata, Blossoms, etc. The libarary offers a vast range of books and journals which can be borrowed for 2 weeks, after which you will be fined for each day you have not returned the book. The classrooms have projectors, speakers, and microphones alon with the regular classroom facilities. There is a wide range of sports and extracurricular activities offered by Christ.
Admission :
Christ is the only college in India that offered the best curriculum in terms of BSc Psychology. Other colleges didn't offer science related subjects despite this being a science degree. I did not get accepted into Chirst on my first application as I hadn't come prepared. On my second application, I prepared well and got admission. The admission process involves a test and an interview, both of which were conducted online for my batch. Students of any background are eligible for this course.
Faculty :
The faculty members encourage all students to reach their highest potential and are always willing to provide any help necessary. At times, some faculty members have displayed improper behaviour, but once these issues were communicated with the student council, actions were taken and issues resolved. Th faculty to student ratio for my department is around 1:30. Faculty student relationships are friendly. There are 3 internal assessments, including the mid-semester examination, which together make up 26 marks, while the end semester examination makes up 30 marks. Marks are also allotted for attendance.
