  • The university that my college is affiliated with was performing quite well for several years, but after COVID, something changed. Regular classes are no longer happening, and most importantly, exams are not being conducted on time.
  • I am pursuing a B.Sc. in Chemistry here, which is a 3-year course. My batch is 2020-23, so according to this, my course should have been completed by now. However, it is currently 2024, and my third-year exams have not yet been conducted.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Actually, when I was in 9th grade, I developed a strong interest in chemistry. I studied it thoroughly from 9th to 12th grade, and I decided to pursue my graduation in chemistry. I had some excellent teachers who made learning chemistry enjoyable, which further fueled my interest in the subject. After completing my graduation, I plan to continue with a master’s degree in chemistry. I just hope everything I’ve planned works out.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

So these are the information about my college: "In my college, the annual fees are applicable, and when you take admission in the first year, you have to pay the admission fee as well as get registered at the same time. The admission fee for the first year is ?2700, and the registration card will cost approximately ?1500. Then, after that, you will need to fill out the exam form, which will cost around ?1500, and the rest are expenses for books and notebooks. Similarly, in the second and third years, the admission fee is around ?2600, and the exam fee is ?1500. Apart from this, there are also charges for the project you do, which are quite minimal. As far as the fees are concerned, I belong to the General category, so these are my fees. Some of my friends belong to different categories like OBC and SC/ST, and their fees differ slightly from mine, with their overall fees being a bit lower than mine. Besides this, there are no other types of fees like tuition fees, development fees, etc.

Campus Life :

Overall, I feel that I haven’t been able to experience much of college life. I had hoped that college would offer a lot of new learning experiences and a more social environment, but that hasn’t been the case. The quality of education is poor, so there’s little room for social activities or festivals. Classes are very infrequent, and there’s so much uncertainty around exams that it’s hard to know when they will happen. There haven’t been any functions or events organized; it’s mostly just admissions, a few classes, and then filling out exam forms. That’s pretty much been my entire college life experience.

Admission :

My 12th grade was completed in 2020, during the COVID pandemic. After 12th grade, I decided to pursue the same course at Patliputra University, which was considered one of the best universities in Bihar at that time. All the colleges affiliated with this university were reputed, and they had regular classes along with lab facilities. However, due to COVID and lockdowns, I couldn’t go there. To avoid dropping a year, I had to enroll in the university quickly. I didn’t realize at that time that this university was running late and extending a 3-year course to 5 years.

Faculty :

The faculty ratio in my college is good, with approximately three teachers in each department. For example, in the Chemistry department, there are three chemistry teachers. I find all three of them good, but the one everyone praises is Ashok Sir. He is very humble and teaches exceptionally well. If you don't understand something on the first try, he will explain it thoroughly and repeatedly until you do. However, I have some issues with a few other teachers. They come to college but when you approach them with questions related to studies, they tend to give irrelevant answers, which is quite frustrating. Despite the challenges, exams at our university are conducted rigorously, and the question levels are quite high. As a result, many students fail.

Placement Experience:

From 6 semester are students become eligible for getting the placement. Many companies like ICICI Bank, Tata TCS ,Wipro , Hrrkoin the kind of companies visits are college campus. The placement ratio is not that much good but still I think 20 to 30% students of every batch get placement from the college every year and some more students tonight to take the placement so it's not college or the companies for its the students fault. The package of word by them is not too much high but yeah it's always approx like from 2.5 lacs 4 year to 4 lakhs per year it where is according to the course according to the knowledge of the student and many more things. I didn't went for placement or I didn't want to go for placement after the decrease just because I want to continue in the government field so I'll leave the course completed just.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have interest in this subject , so i have decided to pursue my career in this. You have many option to choose and you can choose over them. I also have to pursue M.sc and P.hd in this line so i have decided to choose this course. During your honours classes, the faculty-student ratio is almost 1:35 or 1:40, but during your subsidiary classes, the faculty-student ratio becomes- 1:150 or something above it. During the classes of English and Hindi which are compulsory to take i.e., you can take either 100 marks Hindi or you have to take either 50 marks Hindi and 50 marks English. So during this class, the faculty-student ratio reaches out to 1:200 or some above. Teachers are very well qualified and have many degrees along with P.hd degree from the well-renowned university of India. Their teaching style was also very good. No term exams happen, however you will be taken yearly exam, once every year and it is of easy to moderate level. If you have prepared nicely, you will surely crack.
