- Since this is a girls college, I feel that the podium of interaction gets limited sometimes.
- The college faculty must look into organising an annual fest once a year which has been stopped since COVID.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I'd rate my curriculum 7/10 because honestly, I believe that a bit more of practical training must be included and taught in reference to the subjects, which would prove to be useful to us in some way or the other when we are out of college.
Fees and Financial Aid :
As per each semester, the fees of Bachelor degree of Journalism and Mass communication is approximately Rs. 30,000. So, in a year, we are paying close to Rs. 60,000. Lab fees for journalism students are Rs. 2000, which is included within the course fees. Other departments like Geography or Economics (Hons.) pay around Rs. 20,000 per semester.
Campus Life :
I'm not that satisfied with the campus because there is hardly any campus of the college. The school and college share the same campus. As a result, college students are allowed on field only after 3 pm. So, practically there is no campus as such.
Admission :
Initially I applied on just two colleges which were shikshayatan and Xavier's college Kolkata but then I applied in ashutosh just as a back-up. During getting enrolled in Xavier's, I noticed that the degree was B. Sc which I had no idea about. Soon after the list of shikshayatan was put out and I took the admission there.
Faculty :
Since our college is partly autonomous, we follow the rules, regulations and syllabus Calcutta University. Hence, our exams are conducted in the respective manner. Talking about faculty, I never had to experience anything bitter. So, I appreciate the hard work they put in to manage the various activities of college.
