- The most appealing thing about Bits is its admission process in which their is no reservation unlike other colleges, Bits recruits students on the basis of their merit.
- The curriculum provided by Bits holds great strength compared to other colleges.
Dislikes
- Bits has a very high fee structure for a common man to afford.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The pharmacy course in Bits Pilani is offered only at its two campuses namely the Pilani campus and the Hyderabad campus. The course is very well developed by the esteemed professors of the department with all the necessary information that should be given to the students. The curriculum prepares you very well for the competitive exams for your higher degree. The curriculum always keeps upgrading as this field in itself is very diversified with everyday coming innovations and discoveries. The exams are no doubt difficult but they indeed prepare you very well to stand out as an Bitsian in the society.
Internships Opportunities :
Bits gives you an internship opportunity twice in your four years of college life. One is after your second year(PS1) and the other is in your fourth year's one semester(PS2). PS1 which is a two-month internship is not a paid internship it is just for you to get industrial exposure while PS2 is a paid internship of 6 months.
Placement Experience :
Placements here at Bits Pilani are exceptionally good but also depend on the students and the hard work done throughout their college life. Although talking of my branch, placements of core pharmacy don't seem to hold so good records but students from pharmacy shifting to non-core path get very good placement opportunities. A very high percentage of students get placed here others that do not opt for placements and go for higher studies. I would sit for the placement rounds but I aim to for higher studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure in Bits Pilani is semester-wise: Tuition fees-255000 Hostel:20650(please correct it) Additional advances:12000 Mess advance:10000 Student union fees:450 Student aid fees:225 The above-mentioned category of fee structure is common for every student despite their branch, although the semester-wise split of fees is different for everyone as additional expenses are different for every individual. Bits Pilani does provide scholarships like merit cum need, and academic scholarships to the top 1% of students, and also gives a chance to avail of external scholarships depending upon their eligibility criterion.
Campus Life :
Campus life here is the best one can ever imagine, Bits has three main fests namely the BOSM(sports fest), APOGEE(tech fest), and the OASIS(cultural fest). BOSM is mainly conducted during September, APOGEE is conducted during April, and OASIS during October or November. Bits has a very huge library having thousands of books from all the branches and fields. Classrooms here are equipped with the best infrastructure including the projector and centralized AC facilities in every classroom. Bits has many clubs and departments which help an individual to develop their personality and socialize themselves after the two most hectic years of 11th and 12th.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facilities here are quite well off and can be better but fine. The mess food is also fine not so spicy but I hope they should improve on their menu thing. There is one hostel for girls called Meera Bhawan which is one of the biggest hostels spread out over a total of 9 blocks, whereas there are many hostels for boys on campus.
Admission :
I did not apply for any other colleges I wanted to pursue my pharmacy degree from Bits Pilani. To get into this institute one must crack their exam called BITSAT, conducted twice all over the country in an online mode. Students from both the backgrounds PCM and PCB are eligible for the exam. The cutoffs change every year according to the branch.
Faculty :
The professors at Bits Pilani are very generous and humble toward their students, faculty here is very well-equipped with very highly qualifying degrees. Talking of the faculty of my branch that is, B. Pharmacy, professors here are very much approachable and will try to attend to all your queries amidst the time constraints. I'm honored to every faculty over here everyone is the best in their field. Bits has very specific and strict examination patterns
