- There are 3-4 faculties who are really old, so the students can barely hear their voices

Course Curriculum Overview :
I was always interested in core electronics field and I had heard that this college provides pretty good placements in this field, so I chose this stream. Surprise class tests are taken every once in a while when a significant portion of the syllabus is covered. After 2-3 months after starting a semester, one mid sem is taken.
Internships Opportunities :
Student can unofficially apply for any one month internship during the one month summer vacation. The college provides internship opportunities officially after completion of 3rd year. Students get internship offers from prestigious colleges like IIT Kharagpur or IIT Bhuvaneshwar.
Placement Experience :
Students can apply for on campus placements after completing 5th semester (during 3rd year). If no campus placement is offered, one can still apply for different private companies off campus or continue further study for GATE or CAT exams which leads to M.Tech. and MBA courses respectively. To be honest, the employability after doing further degree after B.Tech. is way better. Pursuing Ph.D is also a great option. 80-85% students get placements after completing B.Tech (this percentage varies every year). My personal plan after completing B.Tech is to have a 2 years job experience and then I want to do an MBA (The 2 years job experience will help me get greater grades while doing MBA).
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The first thing I want to say about the fees per semester is that it's 69500 (130000 per year). When I was admitted to this college, i had to pay total of 72000 at a time (both online and offline and check options are available for payment). Every student has to pay the same amount despite their catagory, only exception is management quota and those who belong to TFW. The college has several branches of national and international organisations which belong to different departments (as for example, electronics department has IEEE branch in this college). The college also provides internship opportunities (even international internships, although only a few students get this opportunity). Being a student member of IEEE, I get several opportunities to attend seminars and workshops. Most of the faculties are extremely helpful and cooperative about future studies.
Campus Life :
As we know that almost every college provide freshers party or Fest, this college is indeed an exception from that point of view. They neither hold any freshers party nor any fest. Although the college hostel (only for girls) gives one freshers party but it's not for everyone and my personal experience as a Bengali girl who stayed in the college hostel for 5 months was really bad from many perspectives. There are several clubs which are pretty active. Academic clubs like Flyers or GDSC(Google Developer Student Club) are the most active ones. Cultural clubs like Resonance (music), Ghungroo (dance), Pravashana (photography and painting) are the most active ones. They organise several events every once in a while. Sports and GDSC are open-to-all clubs and hold many events. The central library is very spacious and air conditioned and a quiet place to study. Although they do not provide access to laptops for 1st and 2nd year students. We can use laptops in classrooms only for special uses.
Admission :
Other than Heritage, I applied for Jadavpur and IEM and even got selected in IEM but chose this college since the fees structure was lower than IEM. Apart from that reason, the average placements are also better in Heritage. To get admitted in HITK, one must have good rank in WBJEE or JEE main examination. CSE sub branches cut off is almost around 6k, ECE cut off is around 11k. The admission process was pretty smooth and clear. Although, it would be better to mention here that the students sometimes get confused after opening the official website of the college since it is very complicated. For that, students should contact any college senior who knows the website.
Faculty :
Most of the faculties of this college are very helpful and not to mention, extremely skilled in their own fields. They even guide students for GATE preparations or CAT preparations. As an Electronics student, I have found amazing teachers like Moushiki Kar ma'am, SJC sir. As for the opposite side of the coin, there are faculties like DCM sir (chemistry department), he is very old and his voice reaches barely upto the first bench. The college has 2 semester exams and from 2nd year onwards, they take an extra mid sem exam. Each subject has 4 class tests containing 10 marks each. I'd say that the question standard is pretty high.
