Course Curriculum Overview :
The college itself have a great reputation in terms of academics. So it was first thing that I took into consideration while taking admission. From day 1 everything was meant to prepare students for real world experiences. The teaching methods are not flexible enough when it comes to students. Due ro limited hours allotted to lectures students can't really focus on self development. Every month we haveexams and difficulty level keeps on increasing.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship duration for 6-10 months from big companies like emcure and institutes like IISER, ICAR, etc is the main attraction of the students studying in the college. The stipend ranges from 15000- 45000/- per month.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
OBC Fees paid : 73641/- Tution fee: 11350/- Student deposit: 2000/- Exam fees: 3560/- Others: 56731/- SC Fees paid: 35039/- Tution fees: 1200/- Student deposit: 200/- Exam fees: 3560/- Others: 28275/- EBC SCHOLARSHIPS - 50 percent to OBC
Campus Life :
The biggest fest of college that the college organises in the month of December is held for a whole week, and every department organises their own departmental fests too. This college pays a lot of attention to extra curricular activities more than any other college in pune. Students run variour NGO drives in the college, one such student run organization is green steps, soec, saathi, etc
Admission :
I applied to Fergusson college along with few others including modern, and university. The reputation of college in academics influenced my decision to get admitted in the college. I didn't get rejected, rather every college I applied into I got selected to the same course. The eligibility is scoring 85+ in 12th boards for 1st round selection, ithe admission was on the basis of merit.
Faculty :
Faculty to students relationship is much more like friends. You can have 1:1 consultancy about anything be it personal or professional. For every 40 students we have 2 faculty members. Miss Taniya Bhatnagar is the best among all. I like the way she make the interaction fun. There are 6 exams for each semesters. 3 concurrent evaluation and 3 written exmas. Concurrent evaluation ranges from 10-20 marks while written exams ranges from 50 to 70 marks. The exmas tends to focus more on your ability to multitask in a single paper. So many of the students finds it difficult to score over 8 cgpa. The course curriculum is 89% r relevant according to me.
