Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum in my branch is very well versed and one of the best in the nation. With time new courses are added according to the industry needs. Introduction of Hons. Also allows us to dive further in our subjects. Introduction to minor degree helps us to get to know and explore other branches(like CS) also.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I am a gen category student so I have to pay nearly 2.5 lakh rupees out of which there is around 1.8 lakh tuition fees and 64k hostel fees. The hostel fees is compulsory for every student living in the hostel. In the hostel fees, we pay 12k for food and 20k for accommodation. In the Institute fees the sc, st students only pay 40k year as their whole tuition fee is waivered off. The same goes for students below 1 lpa family income. There's also a rebate for students falling in the 1 to 5 lpa family income category. All in all ROI of this college is great.
Campus Life :
The college life has been great because of my friends only. You can explore clubs but they are not that great or active. Jaipur is a great city to explore, make some friends, and explore Jaipur to its fullest.
Hostel Facilities :
There are 10 hostels for boys and 2 for girls. The hostels were made during different eras so most of them are different from each other. Some have LAN facilities while some have Wifi access. Some have better rooms while some have better food. So there's that trade-off.
Admission :
The following are the reasons why I choose MNIT over other NITs:- I wasn't getting anything better. The location is the best among NITs as it is located in the heart of new Jaipur. Placements here are ever rising and it is on the path of rising to the top ranks among nits. I am from UP so I needed a college in the Hindi speaking belt.
Faculty :
Every course has different credits based on the number of classes required to teach it. The theory courses range from 1to 4 credits and the lab courses are generally of 1 credit. The mark breakup is 20% internal assessment, 30% mid-term exams, and 50% end-term exams. There is 75% criterion that needs to be fulfilled and if you don't you are declared to fail. The pass criterion for exams is 35% marks.
