- Option to opt for minor degrees which is generally not present in many colleges
- Being a tag of Institute of National Importance
Dislikes
- Peer group is getting worst each year just because of their option opting for taking admission through JEE Mains
- Placements are not good as of first batch for CSE as well as Electronics.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course is quite relevant as it is almost as same as IIT Kanpur also the Minor program thing is very helpful. Faculty are very helpful and exams are bit challenging and difficult too but could be done in one night.
Internships Opportunities :
According to our seniors, the internship oppurtunities is all upon the students for cse related branches and electronic related branched but for petro and chem it is quite good. as the last year would be spent in bangalore campus so it is not that hard to find oppurtunities.
Placement Experience :
As far as i have heard, the placement scene for Petroleum and Chemical Students is the best in whole India after ICT Mumbai, whereas for electronics and computer science the placements are much bad and are expected to get better in upcoming years but the value of the degree is quite good as the letter of reccommendation of faculty could really help you get into foreign universitites as far as i know the HOD of CSE is soo good.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for 4 year course is about 12.67L. There is a fee waiver for SC and ST category but not for EWS, there is a McM scholarship which is only 25k per semester which is too low as compared to the fees.
Campus Life :
The campus is small of around 47 acres but is expected to be increased but amenities are quite like IITs also the festivals are okay, the clubs are there but they are new so maybe not that good. The sports ground for football is soo small and also the badminton court is outdoors not indoors.
Hostel Facilities :
The Hostel given to the 2028 batch is soo much good but the rooms are comparatively small to old rooms . Also the mess is better than other government colleges. There is no PG around the college as it is mandatory to take hostel.
Admission :
For LNMIIT, it a great college with less intake like RGIPT but they have too much high fees which is not worth, also RGIPT and LNMIIT almost has same peer group as in RGIPT there is admission based on JEE Advanced but in LNMIIT where admission is based on JEE Mains but there is no reservation which is a great thing. For VIT, it is so much crowded that the competetion as well as the fees is not worth it. For rest colleges from maharastra, the counselling was done very late and if i gave all my options just to depend on CAP Counselling then it would be a terror as the cutoffs didnt fell as expected and i would not get prefferred college.
Faculty :
The faculty is quite good like tier 3 IITs Professors but they are quite young as compared. Also the course structure is quite similar to IIT Kanpur which is good. According to seniors exams are difficult after sem 2 and major students fail due to not attending lectures as there is 75% attendance criteria.
