- The aspect of the college that i appreciated was its campus life. There were ample space for parking. The yearly fest Attitude is a much awaited event
- The quality of social interaction is average and it majorly depends upon one's own personality. There are people from various different regions and one can feel free to interact with them
Dislikes
- Management of the administrative machinery needs serious reforms and better coordination.
- Classroom infrastructure is average because as a computer science students we don't expect to learn coding through white boards. There is no use of projectors or digital boards
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choosed Computer science because of my personal interest and not how the course curriculum looked like. But as i started with the course curriculum, the basics like DSA, Compiler design, Computer Organisation Architecture, Database Management, Operation system, Neural network, Data mining,Digital Image Processing etc were taught. As far as real world applications is concerned it all depends upon how one polishes one's skills. Exams were held on time and the results were given timely.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are average. Companies like IOCL, APDCL take interns from our university. I was not a part of any internship program so it would be injustice for me to comment much about it. But my friends who did their internship were satisfied.
Placement Experience :
From 7th semester onwards students get called for placement. But the credibility of the companies are debatable. We have heard of scam companies as well. The college provides information whenever there is any company that comes to hire students. Companies like Planet spark, pie infocom, etc come. The selection process is very opaque and subjective. For example the GD round, their was a debate topic based on which the selection was done for the next round. We still don't know what criteria they used for that, nor did they provide any criteria to be fulfilled by the students. Usually around 1-5 students from a class of 40 gets placed. My plan after the degree is different when what my graduation subject is.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees structure during my addmission was broken into several parts. Firstly the admission fees which was Rupees 30000. Then the administrative fees Rupees 25000 Then the Security money Rupees 10000 And the First semester fees Rupees 30000 All these has to be paid at once. Then the second semester fees was Rupees 30000 and then 3rd,4th,5th,6th semester fees was Rupees 50000. This means for the 2nd and 3rd year you have to pay 1lac/year. For the 7th and 8th semester the fees was Rupees 60000. For every semester you top the class we get Rupees 10000 into our bank accounts. The fees structure is same across all categories of student
Campus Life :
The annual festival Attitude is held at March. This is one of the most awaited fest. Students participate in various events like music, dance, comic acts, drama. This is held in the amphitheatre but the capacity is low. It cannot accommodate all the students of the university. The general students are not consulted about anything regarding whom to bring into the event as Chief guest or as the artist who would perform. The library is good and well managed and contains a lot of books. I already mentioned about the technical improvement as far as classroom infrastructure is concerned. Sports and extra curriculum activities are below average. There are different clubs like music clubs and others but the excitement regarding them is very low. There is no student body or union to represent them and their issues. The administration is quite detached from the ground realities that a student faces.
Admission :
There is no specific eligibility for the course. One can apply through their website or can visit the University office for admission. The addmission process is smooth and hassle free. There are no specific areas for improvement in this department.
