Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is mainly a practice oriented one. Also they gave more emphasis to the improving of the skill set of the students. The field works and camps help us understand and apply what we learn from the campus to the real world. The teaching method is student centric as we are considered as the stakeholders. The exams are conducted timely and the difficulty level is from moderate to high. Good preparation can only be the key for cracking the exams. Viva is also conducted based on how we apply the knowledge on real life situations.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship and block placement is part of the third semester curriculum. Mainly it is without stipend as only one month is alloted for the block placement. But there are opportunities to work under several organisations through our field work plans. Last time it was social policy implications fieldwork to asses how the social policies are reaching the public in different areas.

Placement Experience :

There are placement cell working in the university. From the third semester only we're eligible for placements. But the placement companies prefer those who have completed the third semester. Companies like BHEL and institutions like Azim Premji contacts the department for placements and all. Mainly 10 percentage of students gets placed through campus placement and others are having opportunities through other ways. Around 85percentage of students who completed MSW course are employed. My plan is to crack the NET exam and apply for assistant professor job also looking for a job as HR manager.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

First semester fee : 12000rs Second semester fee: 8000rs Third semester fees: 10200rs Fourth semester fee has not been given Scholarships funded by both Central and State governments are applicable by the students. SC ST have lesser fee compared to other categories. General category has the higher fee amount. Mainly a difference of 1000 or 2000 rs is there.

Campus Life :

Campus life is very enjoyable and good as the exposure we'll have is very much on a high scale. Personality development will be done. Library is functioning till 9pm and have a wide range of books and journals. Also eLibrary facility is also available to the students. The sports and extracurricular activities are supported very much. As sports have been given greater importance in the campus. Student run groups are also active and many cultural programs have been conducted throughout the year.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facility is top notch as for the less amount we're paying as hostel rent. A room has four beds , three almirahs and one fan along with one tubelight and two small lights. Registration process of hostel is simple as we just need to register from the Dean Students Welfare office. The hostel mess menu is not that much appealing but still providing good food. The taste may not be likeable to everyone as the mess follows Karnatik cuisine which is not familiar to everyone.

Admission :

Any one with degree qualification can apply for Social Work. The selection is based on the marks of CUET examination conducted by NTA. Based on the cut off marks we'll get admitted to the university. Reservation benefits are there as I have availed through OBC reservation. After applying the department will contact you via email. The fee is paid through online method.

Faculty :

There are a total of 7 faculties in our department and each of them deals with us in each semester. Also the PhD scholarships are given chance for interacting and preparing us for the NET/JRF examinations. Faculties are highly qualified and PhD holders. Many of them are recognised throughout India. We can approach and interact with any faculties without any problem and they are very supportive in nature. The teaching method is mainly student centric approach as they expect active participation from the student side.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Some papers need to be updated and should include topic related to current issues and more discussions are need to be conducted in the classroom that improves the critical thinking of the students. For Social Work course field exposure is very relevant and important to increase the knowledge of the trainee. But the department is not providing any field exposure to the trainees according to their specializations. The only field experience students are getting from the one month block placement/ internship, but that is not enough for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is stick on to the outdated syllabus. Practical experience is missing. Theoretical knowledge is getting but practice is missing there. In this competitive world, we can't survive with this basic knowledge. Technological advancements are lacking and we are poor in managing it.

Placement Experience:

From the third semester, the students become eligible for campus selection and students are given support from the faculty members to join certain NGOs to work with. This makes the students develop their skills and learn new things by working with them. Students often end up working with these NGOs after finding the experience with them as productive. But Christ doesn't have many placements for the MSW course.
