Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very interesting. It contains study trips and visits which makes the study process very interesting and lively. There are on hand work shops for students which makes study more easy. The curriculum is updated after every few years to keep up with the change.

Internships Opportunities :

In architecture 7th semester is completely dedicated to internships which is the part of the syllabus or the curriculum. It is compulsory for the students to do internships and it is really helpful for the students to work on various projects.

Placement Experience :

In architecture the placements are very low compared to other engineering branches in the college. But still they got placement and students get placed every year in top architecture firms in India . Percentage of students getting placed is very low

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee is very very low compared to other private architecture colleges. They charge a fee of 10000 for a year. There are obviously other charges including college bus fund and some other funds related to college but still it is very low compared to other colleges. The students can avail a lot of scholarships depending on their annual income and financial status .

Campus Life :

Annual cultural and technical fests are conducted every year in our college. The annual cultural fest is called DWANI which is one of the major college fests conducted in Kerala. The annual technical fest in called DRISHTI which is a main technical event among the engineering colleges in Kerala. Apart from this a lot of clubs and related activities and extracurricular activities are conducted in our college. Sports is also given major importance in our college.

Hostel Facilities :

Allotments to the college hostel is mainly based on annual income and distance from home . If your annual income is higher the chances of getting into college hostels are very low. A lot of students do not get allotment in college hostel so they prefer private hostels near the college. College hostel is more affordable compared to private hostels . The food in college hostel is so good.

Admission :

The admission process is strictly through keam rank list. For architecture one has to pass the entrance examination called NATA ( National Aptitude Test in Architecture). The marks are to be submitted in keam portal along with one's plus two scores. Depending on the scores a rank list will be published and college allotments are done. One should have a rank below 50 to get admitted in CET.

Faculty :

In case of architecture the faculties to students ratio is around 1:10 especially in designs which is a great thing for students as it will help them to get individual attention and advices The faculties are highly qualified and experienced and very helpful. They are always ready to help whenever we approach them for project or discussion or doubts etc .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architecture is a tough and time taking course, the syllabus fine in the first three years but later on it becomes hectic. Maybe the syllabus can be reduced and I feel that five years is too long for architecture degree.

The Holy Crescent College is located in the Ernakulam district of Kerala. I did my B. Arch from the college and overall it was a pleasant experience. The placement could have been better, but the infra is good, as it should be for an architectural college.

Remarks:

NIT Calicut is one of the oldest institutes in India, but the constant construction and renovation ensures that it doesn't look ancient. Yes, some of the buildings may look like they're from a long bygone era, but the management ensures that they are well maintained, and new, modern buildings come up on a more than regular basis. The students are provided with all facilities they might need; the college has good, air conditioned labs, a fantastic library, three tennis courts, two basketball courts, indoor badminton courts, grounds for football and cricket, and even a swimming pool. There is a mega hostel coming up, which would have all modern amenities, and house about 1500 students. That should take care of the fact that the current hostels are way too cramped and really not up to the mark.
