Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Basically my department is Production & Industrial Engineering which is actually the upgraded version of foundry & forge course and it is a good core branch and has a good future in every aspect like placement and other things. Course curriculum designed here are related to the real world application and it fulfils what the industries need nowadays. Till april 2024, NIAMT was under JUT (Jharkhand University of Technology) and the syllabus of NEP now the college has got the deemed to be university status. Exams are on the regular basis like 2 mid-sem and end sem in every semester.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship opportunities are also provided in our college, Tata Metaliks and Tata Steel offers internship and give stipend of around 45k for one and half months. Major projects are based on manufacturing technologies like steel metal process which give a bit knowledge and in-hand experience of industries and the manufacturing processes. which help the students in getting jobs easily.

Placement Experience

5

In terms of placement our college has a record of almost 100% campus placement.Due to its emphasis on core branches such as metallurgy and manufacturing, most placements are secured by students in core companies. In 2023, the average package was 7 LPA which increases in 2024 to 9 LPA, while the highest package was CTC of 14.95 LPA. Many students are offered a CTC of 13.95 LPA. Notable recruiting companies are Tata Steel, Tata Metalliks, HEC, JSW, NML, Vedanta and others. Some students opt for higher studies such as MBA, M.Tech etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee Structure: The institute fee for B.Tech. courses is around 78k to 80k per year which include tuition fee, examination fee, medical charges, and others. Hostel and mess charges for each year is around 65500 which is quite decent. There is no any fee wavier system like IITs and NITs but ROI is very good. Scholorships and financial assistance: For home state students there is home state scholorships which gives upto 85k per year while for other students national scholorship program are beneficial. Som private scholorships are also in our college like buddy4study scholorships and other. Apart from this, the college has a campus bank of Canara Bank which gives educational loans to students very easily.

Campus Life

4

Overall, the college is quite impressive in terms of placement and infrastructure. The main thing about the college is that it provides all the facilities at very reasonable prices. Overall, it is a good place for learning and having splendid memories. There is an NGO run by college students named 'KARTAVYA', which provides the free education for thousands of poor children. If we talk about cons, the college is located in Hatia, a small town in Ranchi, so it does not provide good connectivity for transport. The other thing is that NIAMT doesn't have any impressive clubs or societies, so it lags in terms of exposure and crowds. In this college, there is no any technical and coding culture.

Admission

Simply one can take admission in this college on the basis of their JEE Mains score and student must have PCM (WITH 60% minimum marks) in their intermediate. After getting a seat in this college through JOSSA or CSAB a physical verification is done in the college where document verification is done. Cut-off for this college is as follows: for general category students minimum of 90 percentile is required in JEE Mains and for obc/gen-ews 85 to 86 percentile is required. For st/sc category minimum 80 percentile is required.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty at NIAMT typically possesses a range of qualifications and experience that contribute to the institutes's reputation for academic excellence. Many of them have done their Ph.D and M.Tech from IITs and other reputed universities. They have significant experience working in the manufacturing and technology sectors. Faculty at NIAMT adopt a student-centric teaching approach, focusing on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. In our courses the faculty-to-student ratio is about 1:7 which is quite good. Some faculty are very chill and funny and some of them are very strict but they all support their students in their academics.

Other Applied Colleges

Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya - [GKV] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I didn't choose this college due to location issue. As my home state is Jharkhand therefore i prefer NIAMT (formerly NIFFT).

After completing the jobs most of us went to banglore for searching jobs... We had placement if any after completing 8 semesters We had ibm and hcl but they asked for donations before giving jobs. Packages were 3.6 Lakh to 5 Lakh per year. Overall 20% got placement. I prepared for Government exams after completing my degree.
