Course Curriculum Overview
My Course is B.A. Program (Hindi and History). When i got admission in history course, i didnt liked the subject at all. But as the classes in the college proceeded, the faculty was so nice and helpful that after studying it for almost 3 years now, the teachers made me fall in love with history. Now, i like the subject very much. It interests me. Exams are not very difficult, the marks are based upon how much you study.
Internships Opportunities
The Placement Cell of the college regularly works to provide internship opportunities for everyone. Stipend depends on company to company and even upon the role. We get internship opportunities with stipend of Rs. 3000-8000 and somewhere even between 10000-15000. The College recently organised an internship with Anuvadini Foundation that comes under AICTE. It was a really good experience working in that internship. The college even organises internship workshops regularly and tries to give as much opportunities to its students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Indraprastha College for Women is a Semi-Government college. Tuition fees are a bit higher than other renowned colleges of DU like Hindu and Hansraj. At the time of admission, my fees was 27,120 for 1st year which included some other charges and caution money but as you step in 2nd and 3rd/4th year there is a constant amount of money that you have to pay as per your course. For my course and combination, it is 20,120 per year which i think is still great as in other colleges or Private Universities, tuition fees are in lacs.
Campus Life
Being in IPCW for around 3 years now, my college life has been excellent in every term be it the exposure given, or the quality education I recieved. There are many societies active such as Mridang: Indian Dance Society, Afroza: Western Dance Society, and Croydon: Fine Arts Society. Various cells like the Women's Development Cell, Entrepreneurship Cell, and Placement Cell are very active.
Admission
My admission was through CUET. If a person regularly follows the website of the University of Delhi, then the admission process is very smooth. A laid-back attitude is not acceptable anywhere. Even the college website is updated regularly.
Faculty
The faculty is knowledgeable. Young Faculty is hired as the new intake comes with a lot many new ideasThe Old faculty is still there and due respect are given to them by the young faculty and the students. Teachers are approachable. Doubt solving sessions, here known as Tutorials takes place regularly. Some teachers could be great mentors and their mentorship can last with you for a lifetime.
