What Students Say
Likes
- The atmosphere of the college is really good. The students come from diverse backgrounds and it is a vibrant place overall
- Too many curricular activities and subjects to choose from. We have a wide option of Generic Courses, Value Added Courses and Skill Enhancement Courses apart from our core subjects.
- The staff is good. The faculty is very much experienced and very supportive for the students
Dislikes
- No auditorium and Air Conditioning except in library and computer labs
- The administrative staff has a bunch of rude bureaucrats sitting and doing nothing except yelling in the students. Every paperwork gets delayed because of them
- Groupism based on caste present. Favouritism based on political opinions present among teachers.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is outdated. We are still learning basic C++ and Python which is definitely not gonna help in our future for placements and stuff. However, we do have the option to choose from a variety of subjects other than our core subjects which enables multi-disciplinary learning. The semester exams are quite easy if u study well for a week before exams
Internships Opportunities
Leading companies come for internships and offer good stipends. However, the college isn't much supportive when it comes for the attendance part of the students doing some internship. I got an internship with upGrad and was given a good stipend of 15K. However, I always had the fear of getting debarred from examinations because of attendance. At the end, I was able to give exams after I submitted a judicial affidavit. Otherwise the college has no restrictions of who can sit of internships or not. Everyone is allowed to go for interviews. We also have some University internships which require good academics to apply but do not give any corporate skill.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible to sit for placements from 5th sem onwards. However, the avg package does not exceed 5-6 LPA for any course despite good companies visiting our college including Delloite, KPMG etc. we do have some internships otherwise. I would definitely not go for any placement from this college for this low package. Placement ratio is quite decent otherwise. 70-85% students get placed
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for my course is 56,100 for an year as it is a self funded course. Apart from this we have to pay examination fees twice a year which varies between 1500-2000. So the total fees comes 60000 excluding the charges for books. The financial aids are present but that offers a relief of 1000-2000 only which might be beneficial for govt funded courses but does not help cs hons students. I have this enrolled into an internships which is able to fund 50% of my course
Campus Life
The campus life is good. We have too many societies including mountaineering, debating, devotion etc. You will definitely find atleast one society that's made for you. The student politics is also very active with yearly elections for the student union for college as well as university. We have a lot of student run groups as well that involve academic discussions, politics, sports etc. The college has various sports teams which are ranked the best in the city. However, we do not have an auditorium, because of our corrupt students' union.
Admission
U need to give CUET UG and the course/college will be awarded on merit basis according to your preference sheet. Coming from a general category, I could have got better college as well if I had waited for further selection rounds. However, most of the seats are reserved for categories and sports etc
Faculty
The faculty members are very much experienced about their field and are open to support young minds whenever they require insights into professional experience and life skills. The teachers are open to interact on phone etc outside their working hours as well. However, the faculty to student ratio is above 50 for all courses. As a result, u will have to make yourself visible to the teacher to be able to communicate freely
